We are very fortunate. I see the atlanta playoff loss two years ago as the season we arrived and we parked in the drive way of the house the window is on. We won the superb owl the year we stepped on the porch. This year we are opening the window. To win the superb owl before people even thought our window was even open is a dream come true. Patriots have established a winning culture.....why can't Seattle dominate for the next 5 to 7 years....?? Just draft well and the next 4 to 5 years at a minimum should see Seattle in playoff contention at a minimum....once you are in the playoffs a lot, it's then a crapshoot more than actual talent....we may have seasons where we are a wildcard and win it all and could have an off game in the playoffs and lose.

Bottom line is these signees and our drafting has created strengths on the roster that can allow gaps to be filled elsewhere....it's when you have 7 draft picks and 15 holes where we had been for years prior to Holmgren, that things got us into FA signees, that took up money and never really filled the holes on the roster....

I'm not that high on the "Patriot's winning culture."

If we had to list the reasons the Patriots have been successful for so long, #1 might be playing in a god awful division 12 years running. How many years in a row would the Hawks be in the playoffs if they had a 4-5 game head start on the rest of the league for 10 years straight?

Belichick is a great coach, and Brady is a great QB, but other than that they've relied on a terrible division to get them into the playoffs every year..........at which time they lose.

Love the enthusiasm and it's fantastic as a fan to be thinking that far ahead with Lombardis in mind and for legitimate reasons. Things can change so quickly in the NFL, injuries, drafted players not panning out, free agents that are signed to get over the hump that just don't perform, players sometimes have down years (what if RW gets married and has a child....how would that effect his time at VMAC??). Way to many variables to consider when thinking about 3 years from now. This time, right now...is what several generations of Hawk fans have hoped for. Eventually the Hawks will hit rock bottom again and that will come sooner than you think. Just enjoy the ride and don't get caught up in thinking about 3 - 5 years from now. Right now is so awesome.....stay in the now.

4 NFCW teams made the SB from the weakass west. 3 lost(including 1 to the Patriots).

I get your point, but the one things teams have no control over is the strength of their division, excepting the 6 games they play vs them. Which the Patriots controlled.

Do you think they are good this year?

Uh apart from 3 superbowl wins and 2 further appearances (where, if Welker doesn't drop the ball and Eli doesn't make one hell of a throw to Tyree, we're talking about them winning 5 rings). Yeah they play in a terrible division, but if I recall correctly, from 2002-2011 so did we.

And Russell and god willing we have 15 year window open.

Though I believe its open as long as pete and his staff are in town. Making diamonds outta nobodies.
