Most definitely. Tom Cable went off the rails thinking he was some kind of OLine wizard.

Perfect avi for asking this question

It's a loaded question. Part of the blame lies on PC and JS for buying into Cable's crazy schemes. Solari makes their job easier by probably just saying "just get me quality o-linemen to deal with". Realistically though that's what they always should have been doing with Cable though, when he brings some crazy plan for his o-line, it should have been shot down. Cable didn't have the same talent as Solari, but it was because of actions of both the front office and Cable.

Thank you for your input.

Seriously, if Bevell had this O-line we probably would have won in GB.
No.

No.

This. Bevell was a part of the problem, not somebody getting help back by everybody else.

Having Solari still wouldn't help the design of plays that have 2 WRs converging on one spot with 3 or 4 defenders. Or so many of the other things bevel did wrong.

I think it would have been different yes.

Not so much an indictment of Cable. Although that in and of itself would be warranted. But more the insane idea of having Bevell as OC, but giving Cable authority to call the run plays. The arrangement on it's face, regardless of the participants, almost ensures a constipated mess of an offense.

Solari would have never required that kind of arrangement.

I can't say how Solari would have worked out though, given Alex Gibbs' stunning departure on the eve of the 2010 season. Would Solari have seamlessly fit with his zone blocking scheme at the 11th hour? Cable clearly was a fit in that regard.

It's Souixhawk and he's trolling. The off season is fun.

Fair enough. I think many were a little hard on bevell, myself included without realizing the dynamic behind the scenes so it's tough to say. I hated his response to the int so I'm still not objective when it comes to him.

I've never participated in building a team for fantasy football.

But, I can appreciated how the fondness for buffets persists to this day.

Although, they can get pretty messy.

With, food fights and such.

A popular diversion both in season and out.

No. Pete controls the game plan and Schottenheimer executes it. It would be the same garbage under Bevell, and quite frankly I think that Schottenheimer is a better OC and QB coach than Bevell. Just look how he under utilized his talent in a negligent manner, especially the TEs.

Florida and loving GOP country!
Lots of good input here. I think the consensus is that we just don’t know what would have happened because Cable sucked, and Bevell was handcuffed by him. I mean he killed it in Detroit, and obviously needs another shot at a head coaching gig. I for one will be following his progress very closely!
