  • Based on what you'd do elsewhere with the existing roster and staff, on what position (or specific player if you've really thought about it!) would you spend our first round draft pick? Or Best available player?

I guess a lot of answers here will depend on that first bit about the current personnel.

  • Traded like they always do. We have no second round pick, plus second round picks are more cap friendly, and the Hawks are tighter against the cap they then want to be.

In a way, I agree - but I'm sure I've read that we have a lot of high-pick talent already. Fair enough if you think they're busts, but I think there's a decent argument to be made that our O-Line woes aren't all on the personnel, but on the coaching too.

  • Without a single doubt 100% Pass Rush.

I can't go another year wasting a high pick on a crappy Oline player and waiting for him to gel only to either never pan out or sign elsewhere once the light comes on.

  • OL or RB. If Derrius Guice is somehow available, he would fit in nicely. But, they'll trade down and get back another 2nd or 3rd rounder.

  • Depends on what we do in FA?

OL seems the obvious choice, but not sure how deep the draft is at that postion.
DL - our expensive defense had problems getting off the field and producing 3 and outs.

  • Royce Freeman would be a STELLAR first round pickup. If we're looking for another RB as well.

  • SEAHAWKS DRAFT -- trade down pick #18, Using the “New” trade chart:

All #‘s are rounded to the nearest whole number. All trades depicted would require a serious and motivated trade partner that has all of their native picks available to trade & all pick #'s shown are actual picks that each team would normally have available in each round - but do not include any possible traded or comp picks. Obviously, trades are extremely difficult to predict. The purpose of this study is to get an idea of the trade down possibilities for the Seahawks relative to values they may be able to obtain in trade for their #18 pick during the NFL draft.

I have made the assumption that teams moving up into Rd-1 are motivated to do so, perhaps they love a specific player (QB?, RB?, DL?) thus they usually have to pay a little extra for the move up and the further they move up the more the cost in draft capital. Some trades could also have the Seahawks swapping some of their native picks in addition to #18, to achieve a higher value, but that is impossible to predict. Multiple trade downs in the 1-st Rd. are a possibility for the Seahawks and those are also difficult to predict, even though, this is somewhat likely to happen. I say they trade down at least twice in the 1-st round unless they get some high picks from trading one or more of their players for picks.

Seahawks -trade down- using pick #18 in Round-1, = 287-points. (This is an illustrated "EXAMPLE".)

    #19 = 278 points, ( -9 Points) - (278+13 =291), (SEA +4-points)------------NET: = #19 + #174

  • It's a bad year for OL. It's ALWAYS a bad year for OL these days, given how many linemen are turning defense in order to rack up more money. The drought will continue until some corrective action takes place.

RB is unlikely for a first-rounder given the presence of Chris Carson, whom the team is pretty confident with.

Front seven is always a great choice, and the draft is ridiculous deep with them this year. I suspect that's where go. A LB would be nice, but I wouldn't be surprised with a monster DE, either. Never too many of those.

  • If they can somehow get both Notre Dame linemen LG Quenton Nelson and LT Mike McGlinchey, the left side likely won't be a problem for the rest of Wilson's career.

If they're both still on the board where the Hawks can move up, they could use Duane Brown/Earl Thomas/Bennett/Sherman to acquire more picks to grab both. Not very realistic, but it would be awesome.

  • I'm a huge fan of Mike McGlinchey in the 1st round. If they could somehow trade down a few spots to pick up a 3rd round pick and still get him I would consider that a win win.
