Wow...this guy...anyone else see this? I found it through a link on Deadspin:

Full article here: http://www.philly.com/philly/sports/eag ... a_Day.html

Part of me hopes he's just being an Eagles troll, bitter that we contributed to their missing the playoffs. But i don't think so. I think he's one of those in the media that is genuinely an utter moron and one of the huge things wrong with the sports media. Gah!

But in response, I love this SB Nation article

Media should be thanking Marshawn for giving them something to write about. Without Marshawn, nobody cares about media day yesterday. I'd be in favor of just doing away with the whole day.

Doesn't surprise me one bit that the media is filled with entitled *bleeps*.

Richard Sherman said it best. There is no reason players should be required to speak to the media anymore then Roger Goodell and his ilk are. If a player wants to say something then let them but if not leave them be just like any other human being.

Did you read all the way to the end?

"He contends he wants no attention beyond the game-day adulation of his fans . . . then arrives for Media Day in sunglasses, a special (and possibly unsanctioned) Beast Mode hat. He grabs his crotch, flashes a hollow, gold-toothed smile and figuratively flips the league the bird.

Within an hour, the hat was available online for $33, touted as the one Lynch wore during Media Day.

It was the height of hypocrisy. Lynch was afforded a priceless, 5-minute ad for Skittles and New Era caps.

Both are corporate partners with the NFL.

Maybe the league should just call it even.

Sounds fine to me, if the NFL insists on pimping you out why not get paid for it? The NFL deserves to be made fun of and be mocked at every turn because of their asinine behavior/rules etc.

Quote from Richard Sherman:

Under Goodell the league continues to put players like Marshawn Lynch in a position to be mocked by the media, which seems to get a kick out of seeing people struggle on camera. As teammates we’re angry because we know what certain people do well and we know what they struggle with. Marshawn’s talking to the press is the equivalent of putting a reporter on a football field and telling him to tackle Adrian Peterson.

Yeah, read to the end, not sure what your point is. They forced him by threat of fine to show up. So what if he was dressed in a flashy manner? So what if he took advantage of it for marketing? Are you hating on him for taking a situation he doesn't want and using it to his benefit?

The media hold all the cards because they make the stories; but the fact of the matter is the media today is lazy, arrogant, sensationalist, and profit off of tearing down others.

So I guess its wrong for people to have an opinion. Why does our fans want/demand people to praise us so bad. The media bashes and rip other teams and opposing players all the time and yet we don't have a problem with it but when they do it to us we get butthurt.

Also, consider their general profile: These largely are very young men whose talent has afforded them shelter and structure most of their lives. They are people for whom "hard work" equates to lifting weights and running sprints; for whom "commitment" means adhering to a loose daily schedule that tells them when to wake, when to eat, when to think; for whom "adversity" means being .500 midway through a season and somehow making the playoffs.

They know little of the real world and its gravity"

This piece of drivel was appalling. Does this moron think guys like Lynch and Sherman were afforded"shelter and structure" for most of their lives?

He doesnt think Lynch knows what "the real world and its gravity" is when he goes back home and works with all those kids?

What a clown. He should be fined for writing that piece of garbage.

Lynch is going to retire after this year cause he's tired of the nfl and the fines. It's really getting out of control and the nflpa needs to get behind their players.

Right, like the toothless NFLPA would actually do anything?

Lynch is pushing back and resisting a bullying NFL, Go Marshawn!

I agree with Sherman, nobody should be forced to speak if the choose to not speak. The league is making plenty from Lynch already and this whole we'll make you do things our way or else is a situation ripe for oppositional defiance.

I think all the players in their own way were saying, " I'm only up here so I don't get fined, and because people paid 20 dollars a head to get in here." There was no serious Q&A, and some of the dumbest questions imaginable are thrown at them. There is dumb - and then there is media day.

Real questions from this year and past SB.
