Life long 'Hawk fan from Cedar Rapids, IA finnnnnallly seeing a home game. Staying at the Courtyard Pioneer downtown, what is the tailgating like? Best area? Where?

For the few games I've gone to, best place was in the parking lots across the street from the pro shop side of the stadium. Tailgating wasn't allowed in the parking lot
If you are interested in meeting up with some fellow NETTERS you can usually bump into a group of us at Temple Billiards, downstairs. (2nd and Jackson just two blocks dead North of the stadium).
