Russell Wilson became the first QB to lead his team in rushing

Randall Cunningham did it several times (1987-90).

Really a shocking stat.

I remember Bobby Douglass, the QB for the Bears in the early 70s, ran for over 1000 yards 1 year but this should never happen.

Actually, Cam Newton led the Panthers in rushing in 2012:

I think it is supposed to say first Seahawks to lead the team in rushing.

Has a QB ever led their team in rushing and failed to make the playoffs? Someone smarter than me might know.

I’m sure it happens all the time as that’s not a good sign of team success having a QB out rush your HBs.

You don’t want your QB leading the team in rushing...

He also led in YAT & had our longest run of the season.

I believe he led the team in rushing before as well..
A horrible stat to gloat about.

Cam Newton also lead the Panthers in rushing this year. He had 150+ yards more than Wilson.

Didn't RGIII lead the Skins in rushing his rookie year? I know it was a close second if he didn't.

The fact that he had our longest rush is particularly awful.

As others have pointed out already, Cam Newton led his team in rushing. That said, I'd take Jonathan Stewart and McCaffrey over anything we had going for us this season. I would still argue that Russell did something unprecedented. Led his team in rushing AND was the TD leader for the league, along with his total yards

And if there were not drops by P Rich and Willson, he gets 4000 yards, yet again.
