  • In fairness the Niner uniform is a classic with tradition and yada yada yada behind it. I wouldn't be surprised if even in a FAIR competition, we would still get edged out. I'll admit prior to me moving out here, in the Montana days I thought the Niners and their uniforms were pretty cool.

    Its actually funny.

I'm a lifelong Niners fan but up until fairly recently I always thought their uniform was UNpopular.

I like it tho specifically because it is classic...especially since they dropped the burgundy and 3 dimensional numbers.

My favs are all the classics...even tho I can't stand most of the teams.

    Niners
    Cowboys
    Packers
    Bears
    Giants

Whats funny tho is that if you switch out the colors, they are all almost exactly the same.

  • Seriously? You guys are admittedly cheating this? If you have to cheat to win then what's the enjoyment of victory knowing that its false? Between the 2 fan bases, yours is the only one that I have come across openly cheating in attempt to win some stupid poll that doesn't mean anything.

Assume what you want about our fan base, but nobody has to assume in regards to yours thanks to Roland.

I"m not a color expert, but from what I gather, Red and Gold are pretty popular colors in general as colors on uniforms and typical clothing. Red is kind of symbolic of fast and dangerous, and Gold is symbolic of value and wealth. Green is the color of money and blue is the color of the ocean - it goes well with things associated with surfing and things that tend to relax a person. :D again just from my everyday observations...

  • Very obvious given the pace of voting and how it changed that both the 49ers and Seahawks are cheating. Hard to say who started it. Don't really care, actually.

I will be HIGHLY amused if they correct the vote by throwing out all multiple votes from a single IP or capping it at 5 or 10 or some other reasonable value... are we actually sure that the votes from the scripts are counting? Seems you'd need to run it through TOR or similar to get different IP addresses for each vote...

  • Actually, those of us that are cheesing the votes have hit a wall. We literally can't even do it anywhere near as fast as the 49ers votes are coming in, and it's not due to limitations on our end. It's literally ignoring a lot of our submitted votes.

It's almost guaranteed that someone with actual access to NFL.com's database is doing this. (An NFL.com web developer, IT employee, or IT contractor of some sort for them.) What a damned joke.

It would be easier to update with a script. Trust me, much easier, faster and less detection. If it were me, I would connect to it with the same service account that is used by the front end web server, it would be undetected as that account would be writing to it in mass anyways.

It could easily be formulated to update the table as a result of another table being updated. It has been holding at around 23k difference for over an hour. Within a few hundred votes of that 23k.

No biggy, it is kind of funny actually.

Good then go back to the so called niner board you claim to converse with Hawk fans on. You will never see me over there. Ever.
    Goodbye and good riddance. :thfight7:

Sorry to bum you out, but I ain't leaving. Just giving up the argument. You guys are too much fun.

I think Hawker can back me on this one...I'm over there just as much as I'm over here.

You'll slink away after week 14 when the Hawks have kicked the shit out of your team for the second time this (coming) season. So will most your brethren (look it up) save for maybe Box.

  • I hope they lose to whoever is left up there, just like they lost best all time play to Desean Jackson's punt return vs NY.

  • From the desk of the commissioner.

    Dear Dave,

I got to looking at your uniform poll thingy this morning, and, frankly, I have some concerns. Even though your video spots have you pulling for the 49ers, we are thinking that the Seahawks fan base may be savvy enough to allow them to win this thing. This is concerning our marketing department, and when they flood my inbox I get nervous as the money guys aren't far behind.

The concern is that during the actual season the Seahawks look to dominate. I'm hearing from our people that allowing the 49ers to win a few of these polls during the off-season is a way to keep the beast from rattling the cage. Although it is clear the tables have turned and our league landscape is experiencing a polar shift to new and exciting teams, maintaining tradition is key to keeping our monetary apple cart upright. This league wants to always honor tradition, and I'm willing to do anything to insure the franchises that built this thing go out with some dignity.

Consider this note a warning: if you like you paycheck from the network, and want to keep it coming in, you'll do whatever it takes to allow Seattle to lose this thing. Talk to your tech guys and instruct them to do their magic. I can't tell you how important this is to your future.

    Thanks very much Dave,
    Roger

  • So have any of you written to NFL.com and tried to figure out why they are allowing this type of thing to happen? It sure makes the voting less fun when a few people can take over and manipulate the whole thing.

That would be cool. Don't see it happening though.

The main reason USC/UCLA have been able to do so is because they shared a stadium (The LA Memorial Coliseum) for so many years. I could see someone making the argument for the Giants and Jets, since they have a similar situation.

  • Do you guys really care about that dumb poll? I mean, it had the Ravens beat the Raiders. Everybody knows the Raiders have one of the best uniforms in sports.
