I didn't like the idea of an early bye initially, but in hindsight, it's going to be nice for the team to rest mentally and physically after a draining game.

In addition to getting healthy (Burley, Okung, Michael, etc.), this will give them extra time in practice to work on form tackling and their coverage schemes.

Was just about to post this same thread.

Will be very nice to have Simon back too. Add some much needed depth in the secondary. Especially since the Redskins actually have a QB now

We had the shortest off-season of any team so an early bye may be more beneficial to us than most.

Lots to work on. The loss to SD may have been a blessing. A loss today, would have more closely resembled a curse. Much more exciting than Pete, or us, would like them to be. If the bye week could be taken upon request, I'd request ours be taken next week. Should be raining, and the weather cooling elsewhere, by the time we take the field again and that might also be beneficial.
