This is where I'm at as well. People that think Seattle is making a run next year are going to be sorely disappointed.I’m down with Geno for 3 more years. I’m also down for a rookie QB but, not with the first pick.
Now would be a great time to bring one in unless, as mentioned in this thread, we think we have a serious-serious shot.
I don’t think that’s the case next year, maybe not even the year after.
We’re heading in the right direction after this last draft. 1-2 repeats of that draft for the respective positions we need and it’s going to get real fun again.
@Hawk4life This is what you never responded to after claiming "If you had asked this same question last year, we had a top 5 QB. The issue with Geno is that his motor (as PC would say) doesn't put enough points on the board. We started investing in the o line with Cross and Lucas so it seems logical to protect a QB that can put more points on the board." Which is what I am referencing in the other thread. This observation is predicated on what exactly? The Seahawks were tied for the fourth most passing touchdowns in the league in '22. The teams we were tied with had more attempts than we did except for the 49ers. Mostly because their team is full of YAC guys who inflated the touchdown passes (they had the sixth lowest pass attempts and the sixth highest yards after catch). Geno also suffered several drops from DK in the red zone that lowered our scoring significantly. If anything our running game was the slacker points wise as we were tied for the sixth least rushing touchdowns in the league.
So Geno has one gear, he was Mr. Consistency this year. He seems to lack the motivation to find another gear to win. I don't question his love of the game, maybe it's just that he's been punching the clock for so long it's just a job. Except for the 2 eggs you are going to get 1 to 3 TD's from him a game and that's great when it is enough to win.@Hawk4life This is what you never responded to after claiming "If you had asked this same question last year, we had a top 5 QB. What production is decreasing here?So Geno has one gear, he was Mr. Consistency this year. He seems to lack the motivation to find another gear to win. Another concerning trend was that his production slowly decreased as the season wore on.

Yeah it's really not worth mentioning since it is only in TD's 15 (first 8 games) vs 13 (last 8 games) and we faced tougher opponents in the last 8.What production is decreasing here?
