The OTC cap room figure has dropped to $5,225,015 prior to today's Tom Johnson announcement.

Johnson's signing bonus will now move to the dead money column. All the dead money plus injured reserve plus non football injury plus physically unable to perform charges push the nonperforming costs past the thirty-four million dollar mark for 2018. A sizeable sum.

Curious to see what this week brings in terms of roster churn.

The Injuries are starting to be rather significant in terms of talent not able to play.

It certain reinforces the reality the D aged out pretty quickly. It also certainly raises the question of giving big 3rd contracts to players that have injury histories and are starting to show significant wear and tear. Of course that raises argument and discord but can addition genuinely happen by subtraction?

Wow, on the Vikings swiping Johnson. Good move by them!

Ultimately the calculus of the FO was mistaken if you apply the retrospective approach to this situation. At present I'm unsure as to true cap hit the team will take but at best it is at least a million $ for the one game he played in recording 1 tackle. OTC.com says it is $1,027,390 dead money.

All in all the situation is one where at least an explanation might be needed for the owner as the team which is up against the cap has burned between $1+ million of cap on a roster move they might have avoided if Johnson had been cut prior to the 1st game.

Bob Condotta is reporting the team's signed OC- Marcus Henry to the PS, so far no word on the corresponding player to be waived.
