Long Season.

Those two elevations provide fresh bodies on the nose to go up against the 6th most prolific running attack. Especially with Kyler Murrry running amuck and extending plays. A rotation that gives the big men a blow along the way just might make a difference.

I don not expect Bryan Mone to make it back next year from his severe injury. So, these will be interesting game day elevations.

Long season indeed!!!

Sadly I suspect Mone is likely done, the lack of news and any report of some progress is not a hopeful sign. Big men like he is have a far harder time recovering from severe knee injuries.

The team at one point used to be a solid tackling team, their regression to awful in that regard speaks poorly of the DC as it is a fundamental that has been neglected. To become that bad means the DC haas not focused at all upon this fundamental proving he is over his head as the DC.

I sure bet this was not a happy week for film study of the far too many broken or missed tackles by too many on the D.

Reed and Williams aren’t the problem when it comes to tackling
Agreed. My comment wasn't meant to be a knock on Reed and Williams. The possibility of them being out means the players replacing them and the other guys need to do better. Williams and Witherspoon are the best defensive players on the team. Reed has had a solid year. So I'm not concerned about them. However, some of the others need to step up.

The two NTs Faoliu and Gotel revert by rule to the PS.

Updating.

Remaining roster moves will be signing those PS players they want to keep to futures contracts.

2023 Depth Chart, Roster Moves, Cap Position As at the last game

The team usually makes close to 300 roster moves/season (last year 315). This depth chart changes as injuries happen and/or players are added or subtracted as needed. I believe having a depth chart here is a good addition to the main board page so when the team changes players, knowing their player numbers, their names, and positional information is a good thing to be able to quickly refer to here without leaving the site. JS likes to churn the roster a bit to help the competitive situations at various positions.

Here below is a current depth chart. I will record each transaction in and out as they happen. This depth chart is just my opinion, feel free to comment or suggest changes. Comments here are welcomed, this thread is supposed to be informative but also to encourage roster discussion. The plan is to record all forthcoming roster moves and to adjust the DC as the roster changes are made.

Please advise here of any changes as they happen. The usual dependable members always assist but everyone should feel completely free to report changes to the roster here when they happen. Be careful as sometimes the media gets the story wrong, or the source proves unreliable. All assistance is greatly appreciated and allows us to have an accurate and up to date DC here. I will attempt to keep this depth chart current quickly after all changes, PS designations, waivers, cuts, additions, players claimed, PUP, or injury designations, etc.. I will also attempt to keep it current throughout the season by indicating what the roster moves were after they happen. This sometimes involves a delay, sometimes life intervenes, and the delay may result in the update being slower to happen. However, I will make every effort to keep this page current. This hopefully will be a complete record.

I will also update the presently available cap number on a weekly basis, or as quickly as information can be obtained from https://overthecap.com/salary-cap/seattle-seahawks/. Their number can also be seen at the bottom of this page.

Here is the roster from Seahawks.com: http://www.seahawks.com/team/roster

Here is a link to the team’s coaching staff from the team’s website: https://www.seahawks.com/team/coaches-roster/

Here also a DC from the team: http://www.seahawks.com/team/depth-chart
NOTE: This DC is usually not updated each year by the team until completion of training camp.

Here as well is the transactions report from the team: https://www.seahawks.com/team/transactions/

Until we develop a pass rush that will cause opposing teams to be forced to scheme to defend it we will never be able to consistently take the final step. The interior rush needs improvement. The OLine clearly still needs work.

Super Bowl XLVIII Champions at last after 38 seasons. Awesome!!!

This has to now been the busiest season ever since PC/JS arrived with now 348 transactions to now.

I expect more before the post Super Bowl thread recommences the 2024 roster thread.

I expect this to be a very busy offseason. I also expect quite a few surprises.

There are 21 FAs of various types at present with several more expected as the team is underwater with cap at present.

This won't matter until March but it is something to pay attention to.

As per OTC.com https://overthecap.com/free-agency

For clarity it might be of value to note that all those guarantees listed in the chart have already been satisfied in 2023. And, that they are so much water under the bridge going into 2024 considerations.

Just a thought.

For me I didn't think of that and ultimately just took their list (OTC.com) for the players that are the FAs. I quite sure there will be others that JS will release as the rebuilding begins. There could be some players traded as well.

I think I may delete the salary guarantee info as I'm uncertain how I can find the info you wish reliably if it isn't on OTC. My belief is the money shown as guaranteed is already paid and thus satisfied. There is no way the figures attributed to Fant and Brooks are from a 1 year contract.

I believe overthecap lists the salaries/guarantees to give a starting point as to what type of salary the player played under this year so people can have a perceived value.

The thread is now in transition as the season has ended.

Collectively all the season's info is in the thread and the 2023 thread will stay open until shortly around the SB when a new thread will start.

To the faithful, please allow me to quickly save a few spots before posting so the info can be continuous if we are faced with over 325 roster moves in 2024.

It will be my plan to commence the new thread during SB week, time permitting.

i’d like to save the next two posts after the OP so if we again run into the character limits the info can remain continuous.

JS has demonstrated he is not shy about churning the roster at positions of perceived weakness so another 330+ roster move season would be quite feasible.

i expect JS to be busy trying to rebuild this roster. Some much loved players may be moved out and some hard decisions made about personnel.

I’m sure it will be interesting to watch and likely the subject of some controversy, and undoubted criticism. Anything worth building isn’t done overnight.

Patience will be needed.
