Has there been anything like the Panthers this season?

The Head Coach and DC at the start of the season have been fired
The starting QB was released
The star RB (arguably star player) was traded

Any one of those is usually a sign that a team is having a really bad season with no chance of the playoffs yet the Panthers if they win today (and they are only 1.5 point undedogs) would be strong favorites to make the play-offs. Sure most of that is due to the NFC South but has any other team made the play-offs under similar circumstances?

I don't know, but here's hoping the Broncos don't follow suit, having just fired Hackett. But back to Carolina, yeah... I was kind of scratching my head after they beat Seattle a few weeks ago, feeling pretty confused. Just chalked it up to the conclusion that Carolina just brought a lot more fire to the game that day than Seattle did.
