Just watching the box score. That's all. Is there anything to criticize today?

Probably some goofy nonsense about Servais being clueless or whatever.

Damn shame we don't have a real manager that knows what he's doing. You know, like Aaron Boone who's doing such an amazing job in New York this year.

I really don't have an overall problem with either Servais or Dipoto. Sure, in hindsight, some things don't look good. That's life.

My problem has been with ownership when I've had contention with the team. They can be a little cheap when the time is ripe to spend, especially when the M's fan base had suffered something akin to abuse for many years.

Boone is not the problem in NY right now. Besides Judge, they've drafted terribly(really bad) and have aging players. They are old and slow and have no farm. Volpe is struggling as a rookie and Jake Bauer was their key mid season addition.

And Servais wasn't the problem in Seattle for the first half of the season, but that didn't stop you from calling him clueless on a near daily basis, calling for him to be fired, and blaming loses solely on him despite the fact that it was the players that weren't getting it done on offense regardless of how he set the lineup. 🤷‍♂️

The advantage of only having wanted to fire Bevell and Cable is that I don't have to live it down.

I wasn't the only one and they've played better since people starting wanting him on the hot seat. Thats how the fan base can help change things. It happens all the time. The Ms and Yanks situation is totally different.

They started winning a lot more than losing because the players started playing better. It had nothing whatsoever to do with some fans wanting Servais to be fired. Anyone that thinks Servais was anywhere near the hot seat is delusional. The guy is about to finish top 3 in AL manager of the year voting for the 3rd year in row, barring an epic collapse. If they keep doing what they've been doing for the past nearly 2 months, he might win it.

Interesting tidbit of information from this article by Matt Calkins of the Seattle Times. The Mariners were 23rd in OPS before the All-Star break and have been 2nd in OPS since then. The Ms are also 2nd in MLB in batting average, on-base percentage and slugging since the break. (The Braves are first.)

But here's the crazy thing: since July 20, the Mariners have a wRC+ of 136 and a WAR of 9.9, better than the Braves 133 and 9.3, and if you've followed the Braves at all this year, they have an incredible offense.
