Good points ^
We all can only just assume things that we don't really honestly know. But when I heard him say it, that was good enough for me. Coach Mike has been up front about everything, and he doesn't sugar coat like Pete did. I prefer that they move on to someone with more experience and/or someone who isn't so damn pass happy.

-- Let's all be honest with ourselves about the "pass happy" offense. If we keep calling dive right and draw left, and are always in 3rd and 9, we would also be calling for his head. I think he saw our struggles to run the ball early, and accepted that limitation. As Lucas, Olu and then Laumea, settled in, he called a heavier run balance. Since the final say has to be with MM, I am sure they will try to create a better balance. If Haynes or Bradford can make that LG spot their own, then we have a young line be build with.

He called 19 consecutive pass plays. There is NO excuse for that.

Assuming Grubb grubs down his last meal with the Seahawks on Sunday, a name to keep an eye on is Shane Steichen. His seat is getting red hot in Indy.
I don't know enough about the coaching world to say 'who's up next?'

What I do know is that NFL stands for Not For Long.

All the people wanting to babycake the situation - reminder: Grubb had 9 weeks with MM saying "get the run game going" - and flat out refused to do it.

HE NEEDS TO GO. I don't give a rat's ass about hurting feelings. He pissed away a JSN break out year. He ignored DK for the majority of the season. Flat out refused or was incapable of calling 1/2 intelligent plays off script. Could not adapt to a SINGLE thing that defenses threw at him. He just about KILLED Geno running plays that had no business being run behind an incapable OLine. A COMPLETE failure.

Jesus. We've seen the movie already. We don't need to see the sequel.

Are we supposed to give him a participation sticker and go for ice cream too? FFS.

SMH.

This. MM is a Harbaugh disciple. This is the furthest thing away from a Harbaugh style offense.

To think Mike is ok with the Sh!t show the offense has been is looney-speak. He has had to defend the playcalling, he has had to talk around NOT being critical of play design, he's had to push down talk that he and Grubb arent on the same page and

Ge has said multiple times that the style of ball he wants to play is gard nosed, physical and intimidating.

None of those words describe what this offense has been nor what Grubb has himself described it as being. Even when pushed, Grubb has pushed back defending his offensr as one that is shotgun focused and pass based.

Further, he hasnt even shown a consistent ability to field an even respectable ground game, let alone one that is intimidating.

Grubb wont last 7 days after the close of the season.

Schotty should at the top of the candidate list.

I think Grubb was more of a schneider pick than McDonald pick. It would be far-fetched that a guy from the University of Washington becomes the Seahawks offensive coordinator and that the new head coach who probably had zero connection to him selected him.
We debated and discussed on the hiring of Grubb, most dot net experts pointed to our young head coach as the mover behind the hiring of Grubb:

Not that I disagree with you, we don't know why Geno, DK, K9, all had a subpar year.

What we DO know by now? Our offense progressively got worse over the season, the crown jewel was the 6 - 3 Bears game. Look, it's a long 17 games season, whatever our players needed to learn, it shouldn't take this long. And the more they knew about the Grubb system, the worse the result.

All of us have watched enough football games to know that players make mistakes in every game played, hand-picking a few errors doesn't portray the entire situation.

I’m not sure that’s true. He calls plays that allows Geno to check out of them based on the D. And Geno keeps wanting to pass

-- I would be shocked if Grubb is let go. First year in the league, developing some young talent. Successfully unleashing JSN on the world. I would like to see a little more balance, but it was his passing offense at Washington that got peoples attention. Might just need an NFL season under his belt, and he has that now.

-- The bigger issue might be with Charles London, the QB coach. I am not sure what he has done in his career, or this year, to maintain a job like this. He was with Atlanta overseeing Matt Ryan's final year there in '21, then Ridder and Mariota in '22, then Tannehill's speedy regression and nothing from Willis, nor Levis with Tennessee in '23. I certainly don't think Geno has improved in any phase, and if that small sample of onfield Howell is to be believed, he has regressed.

-- It is hard to tell from the outside who is truly responsible for certain elements in coaching, but I hope this issue is at least considered, ESPECIALLY if we bring in a rookie QB this coming year.

If Grubb is staying - what about adding an NFL experienced position coach "run game coordinator" or something to help Grubb successfully create and integrate a run game into his passing schemes.

In my limited opinion they can just tack on a run gane.game. it needs to be fully integrated and seemless with the passing game to the extent that either runs or passes can come from similar formations to keep from telegraphic what's coming

How do we actually know that? And, for the record, the way Geno changes plays and barely gets the snap off drives me insane.
Letting the play clock run all the way to 0 and giving the opposing D a jump on when the snap is coming is "The Seahawk Way."

Was Geno given as much freedom to audible out or choose plays in the past? If not - then maybe that's the difference and the issue. Maybe that's too much on Geno's plate.

Staton's excellent article that was posted here in the forum hit on a point that I agree with. Grubb's system is a collegiate offense, and that shit doesn't fly here in the League.

Of course. Just trying to make a point that his pass happy system is not a good fit in the NFL. And especially when you have a crap O Line and a turnover machine at QB.

I just heard from my sources that Grubb will be let go after this season. Ultimately it was the pre snap penalties that never got fixed as the year went on that was the deciding factor.
