Interesting story. Just a few days ago, the word was that the Steelers weren't ready to move on from Kenny Pickett. I'm wondering if Pickett is going to be on the trading block.
Lucky youI want this train wreck to happen. Yet another reason to root against Me3 and the Stealers.
The Patriots have been my first guess from the get-go. A new coach anxious to put his signature on the team, #2 overall pick in the draft, ready to move on from Mac Jones, and a good QB draft class means they're likely taking a quarterback at that spot. Rather than throw their QBOTF to the wolves on a bad, rebuilding team, better to hire a cheap stand-in for a year and let him take the punishment. Now I am hearing Raiders and Patriots.
I wouldn't want my rookie QBOTF learning from Me3 yikes! The Patriots have been my first guess from the get-go. Good idea not sure if JGs body can handle playing anymore. They have the third overall, meaning Maye or Daniels. Plus, couldnt They just get JimmyG with the same offset language as Russ as he still has guaranteed money coming? Jimmy G has been with the team before and phi’s job has been training qbs, so if I were them, I’d opt for him.

My bad. You're right, it's Bears, Commanders, then the Pats. Thanks for the correction. They have the third overall, meaning Maye or Daniels. Mayfield may end up resigning with the Bucs. Unless they trade up, they're sitting at #26 overall and unlikely to nab one of the top QB's. At the very least, he'd be a good bridge if they did draft a QB.Wilson is guaranteed $39M next season. Garappolo is due nothing at all. His $11.5M guarantee from the $23M total he was due to earn was voided due to his failing a drugs test. Garappolo will miss the 1st 2 games of the 2024 season. Clearly he's not worth $23M any more. In a normal offseason following a few retirements and limit Draft options Wilson and Garoppolo might be competing for $12-18M contracts. The current market is very difficult to gauge. Mayfield is obviously safer and a bit better but it's hard to justify $30M on a guy who might not be able to win it all with a top team.
