Great point on the ZBS knowledge.

Cap space answer.

Works for me

Me too.....I just hope it's long term. I really would like to see him anchor that spot down for the next 4 or 5 years. If Fant comes back and is good enough next year, he can take Ifedi's spot on the right side.

The 2nd rd pick is the only thing that may be tough to take.

It is a year later which devalues it so that's good. I think it is Brown is well worth the price.

We gave up a 2nd round for less of a need in Sheldon Richardson, so I'm fine with it as long as we have him anchoring that line in 2020 it'll be well worth it

If true, this is a good deal for the Seahawks. I like it. Keeping JG and still getting Brown is a win in my book.

Lane was already checked out. 5th rounders have a low-success rate league wide. And the 2nd is just the price you have to pay in today's understaffed offensive line climate. There is a 0.0% chance they find someone at the bottom of the 2nd round who is as good or better than Duane Brown.

I’ll add this to the mix,and it’s an added benefit in my eyes.

Brown is a true team leader. In spite of only being back in the building for a week or so. Brown was a key player in keeping players “in the house” following the Bob McNair controversy.
We obviously can’t discuss any of these details but Brown being the calmer of the storm is huge.
Makes me wonder about the catalyst for pushing this trade through.

I don’t hate it at all.
This very well may extend #3’s career a couple years.

Gonna be weird for Russ not having to worry about getting buried into the turf from his blind side by an unblocked rusher.

Brown is really good, don't care we gave up a 2nd. Tough to get a pro bowl LT. Twitter seems to think they're already working on a new contract.

Seahawks are taking risks but at least they are trying... lot of wisdom coming in on both lines with Freeney and Brown.

It wouldn't have surprised me at all if part of the game plan was exposing the Texans secondary to make Lane seem like a necessity as well an audition for Brown playing in his first game of The season.

The catalyst is the holdout. This is why there have been rumors swirling around him for awhile.

Note: Not saying Brown is the equivalent of Walter Jones, but Jones retired at the age of 36, and Brown is currently 32. Seems may still have a few good years left in him.

Love it only concern is if they try to run it 40 times a game. Keep the offense as is and this is a great move.

I can still see him being able to anchor down that spot for the next 3 - 5 seasons, so if we extended him with a 4-5 year new contract (total time) then we'd have an out for the last year and still have a solution for the foreseeable future at LT. win/win.

Brown without giving up Graham is amazing. And getting rid of Lane's salary?

Now sign Byron Maxwell please.

No thanks. He's been terrible since leaving Seattle. We have Coleman that has taken over the slot position wonderfully and that along with Griffen playing the way he has made Lane expendable. McDougald has played great in coverage when asked to as well. Hard pass on Maxwell.
That's not true! Maxwell has been inconsistent since leaving the Seahawks, but still pretty good last season.

It'd been awesome to add him as competition for Griffin and Shead, if the price is right.

LOL! I didn't know Odhiambo was rank dead last. I knew he was bad, but I didn't know he was THAT bad.

Man, that's a good trade. But Brown's age worries me.
