Unfortunately, this isn't a good year to be an average team needing a QB. I do like Shadeur and Cam Ward. It's unlikely we're going to even be within reasonable trade-up range for them though. I'm lukewarm on Ewers. I did expect considerably more from him, but I do see things that make me think he could be a better pro QB than a college one. After them, looking for "the guy" in the mid-late rounds is a complete waste of time. If you see a guy worth developing, sure take him, but don't make that the plan.
Sam Darnold is there. I thought he would fold by now, so maybe he really has figured it out. He's only 27. Going to get paid though. Justin Fields will be available in free agency. That other guy on the Steelers too. There's nobody else remotely interesting in FA. I'm not a Daniel Jones fan. Trey Lance maybe, just because it would be hysterical if he worked out for us.
Maybe there's a good trade option I'm not thinking of. I'm assuming the Vikings are committed to McCarthy, but maybe that changes if Darnold leads them on a good postseason run. Maybe Jake Browning.
I also want to note that, contrary to a popular opinion on here, it is not illegal to address quarterback and OL at the same time.
