Hi all - I'm beginning to think our 1st round pick next year must be on QB following some very uneven QB play from Geno. I don't want to have that debate here, rather with a predicted 1st round pick of 10-20 (i.e. not top 10), what QBs should we potentially be considering at this point in the college game (and who would likely be available)? Throw some names out!

How about building an OL and DL first before worrying about a QB who would
suck badly if placed in Geno's shoes this season.

All depends on the quality of the quarterbacks in the draft on whether or not we will draft one. From what I’ve seen, the QB class is OK but not great.

I don't think that any QBs in that range of the draft would be starter quality in 2025, but as a developmental prospect, I do like Milroe if he were to declare. I wouldn't hate the idea of a Geno to Milroe bridge. I would also like to see what Geno looks like with at least, at minimum, with mid-level OC and OL, and not the Grubb, Waldron, current Oline mess he was been working with.

I believe that Sanders and Ward are the only QBs ready to start and perform in '25 though.

Unfortunately, this isn't a good year to be an average team needing a QB. I do like Shadeur and Cam Ward. It's unlikely we're going to even be within reasonable trade-up range for them though. I'm lukewarm on Ewers. I did expect considerably more from him, but I do see things that make me think he could be a better pro QB than a college one. After them, looking for "the guy" in the mid-late rounds is a complete waste of time. If you see a guy worth developing, sure take him, but don't make that the plan.

Sam Darnold is there. I thought he would fold by now, so maybe he really has figured it out. He's only 27. Going to get paid though. Justin Fields will be available in free agency. That other guy on the Steelers too. There's nobody else remotely interesting in FA. I'm not a Daniel Jones fan. Trey Lance maybe, just because it would be hysterical if he worked out for us.

Maybe there's a good trade option I'm not thinking of. I'm assuming the Vikings are committed to McCarthy, but maybe that changes if Darnold leads them on a good postseason run. Maybe Jake Browning.

I also want to note that, contrary to a popular opinion on here, it is not illegal to address quarterback and OL at the same time.

I'd like to have Joe Milton in a trade, I may be wrong about him but
I think he may be good if given a chance.
He has the tools to do it and the height I like. I think he'd be a buy low
option really that could pay off big.

JFC who cares about quarterback? Have you guys looked around the league and noticed what the elite teams are doing? Pay attention you guys sound like casual fans.

I'm usually better at understanding sarcasm, but I'm not sure if this is supposed to be a joke or not. The league's best QB has won three of the past five Super Bowls. The other two were won by the best QB of all-time and a team that won a championship after trading two first-round picks for their QB.

I have a feeling it's going to be like clapping with one hand on this one, Rat ✌️
But hey, we're all just "casual fans"

I wish, would make it a lot less frustrating :)

He's only a junior, but if he declares next year, Drew Allar from Penn State.
Allar announced that he's going back to Penn State. Probably doesn't speak well of his draft stock. I believe he was considered like a third rounder.

I don't think he looks particularly natural playing QB, but maybe another year in school will do him good.

All of which had decent offensive lines.
