I will never forget #87. It's burned into my head by personal circumstance, as is the 60-59 WSU loss to Cal 2 days earlier. Literal hours after the WSU loss, we received a phone call at 1am from my grandmother's nursing home. She'd had a massive stroke when she got up to use the bathroom. We drove 2 hours to Mount Vernon in the early morning hours, the next 5 days was spent catching Z's in her hospital room as she slowly deteriorated. She passed at 6am on Friday, October 10th, 3 days after she turned 100. That whole week is burned into my brain, and Russ's 30+ yard completion to Marshawn to set up the game-sealing FG might be the only positive part of it. That game helped me through a rough week, so I will always have a weird fondness for it.
