Of course he matters. He's just never gonna matter enough to overcome the roster limitations that come along with him

I disagree he might not ever be able to overcome the limitations presented by the HC.
Doesn't matter what the limitations are. He's not good enough to overcome them. New coach, New system isn't changing that formula. Russell + Russell's contract = no path to SB. The only chance he has to get back is the Brady path. It requires a team that built itself up through crap seasons while not paying a QB and acquiring said QB at the right stage of team development. Even that formula requires some good fortune along the way and Russell isn't Brady. Not many teams exist in that state. Seattle can't be one of those teams without hitting the big reset button

And again if the problem is the HC then thr no path to the SB has nothing to do with wson or his salary but instead with hc.

In what world would any qb be able to take a team.with the worst defense in the league. A horrible oline and a hc who can't or won't adjust to today's football. Answer no qb can. New coach that understands the modern football game can.

U see your post makes it obvious u think Wilson or his contract is the problem. Yet anyone with eyes seeing the same crap with a different qb, and oc can see its the HC.
Doesn't matter if the coach is A problem or not. There is NO coach that can solve the roster distribution problem. There hasn't been one coach yet to solve that issue and no QB has proven good enough to overcome it. The only ones that have succeeded are a notch below that upper level of salary distribution. I for one am not keen to bet on a horse that's never won a race

So under your scenario our choices are

Keep the top 5 qb and Always have a chance or

Get rid of him.and hope we can find lightning is a bottle again.

Hmm

So the sb winner last year spent more money on offense than we did and they won. Their qb was only 6 mil less than ours. So sorry yourbtheory is wrong. The problem unlike Tampa we don't spend out money well. For example adams, penny, etc. Also fyi we have 10 mil in cap space so that difference between Wilson and Brady is moot..we have money and don't spend it and when we do it's a bad move. Oh and another 9 mil in dead cap.soace thanks to the likes of Reed, witherspoon, finney, etc etc.

Now imagine we had that 9 mil to go with the 10 mil we have not used. 19mil, of course they would spend it on trash.

This is a FO and Hc problem and that is the same person.

Of course he matters

He is an all time great. A hall of famer. His career is full of media and fans diminishing what he truly is. I don’t take his production for granted and never will. Can’t speak for those who have some weird deep seeded bias against him but they’re living in la la land.
