The difference between interest and want is big, any GM worth his salt has interest in any FA out there that could potentially help. Wanting is a bit different.

If what you are saying is true, then why is the GM of the year not interested? (Jerry Jones)

According to Jim Tomsula, Dockett has signed with the 49ers.

No thanks! Niners can keep ignoring age and will soon find themselves in a complete rebuild, while wasting the youth they do have. I love it.

I'm not so sure this isn't a fake account.

And if I had to put money on it, I'd bet against it being real.

He may sign with the Niners, but I doubt this account has any real clue

Yeah, I can't imagine a coaches twitter announcing a fairly major signing.

Or asking fans if a player should be cut.

Dockett is one of those guys you'd love if he were on your team but hate otherwise.

So .. would love the signing.. but if he goes to SF it won't be hard to resume hating him either

Although it would make for an interesting offseason. A football team run like American Idol, where the fans decide the starting lineups!

Guys, Ruskell is gone now. Everyone bags on the guy, then wants to do what he was best at...bringing in big name players that are way past their prime. It didn't work back then, it won't work now. No thanks on Dockett.

You're right. Pete and John have never brought in a veteran past their prime.

I must have imagined them signing Antoine Winfield, Kevin Williams, Braylon Edwards, and Terrell Owens.

Odd.. I seem to recall a 34 year old DT who was "past his prime" being a huge part of our defense last season.

If you don't think Dockett would be incredibly motivated against his old team (who btw is our biggest threat in the division) or the other two division teams.. you're nuts.

All that said I don't think we get him.. but it would be a great addition if we could swing it

Signed with SF.

2 years 7.5 million, 2 million guaranteed in 2015. Reasonable contract.

Bummer, but oh well. Time to get Suh.

Your list speaks for itself...two never played a snap for the Seahawks in the regular season and the other two came in on low salaries because they couldn't get work elsewhere. Ruskell wouldn't have cut any of them and would have paid a lot more for them. Guys here were clamoring for Dockett like they actually believe he could make a difference to a team. He won't.

I think the niners are getting sponsorship money from Geritol this year. It won't work there either.
