Good article but this guy isn’t on Marvin’s Approved writers list so tread carefully!

Does not change the fact that we now have two 1000 yards backs and two 1000 yards wide outs, ok DK was 100 yards shy. But these four combined for 4257 yards.

(Carson 1230 + Hyde 1070 + lockett 1057 + Metcalf 900)

Let's hope Carson and Penny come back full strength. In the mean time...let's have someone who rushed for 1000 last year. Dont hate! While it would be good to have drafted a dream rb you hoped for...I'd rather have a been there prove it type just in case.

Lmao. Catastrophic offseason. How do you get worse with 50mil in cap space? Most Hawks have had in years. In Pete/John we trust. Is that even relevant now? The rest of division got considerably better. Yikes

This signing feels like we're slapping a band-aid on the squeaky wheel after the barn door is already half-empty.

Hyde feels most comfortable in the shotgun -- we saw that when he played at Ohio State, and when he played with Colin Kaepernick. Hyde has nimble feet and can bounce side to side, which makes him perfect for shotgun runs. He averaged 4.7 yards per carry from the shotgun in Houston last season, and has averaged 4.7 yards per carry from the shotgun in his career. He’s consistent.

Carson is much better when the quarterback is under center. That’s where Carson averaged 4.9 yards per carry in 2019. He doesn’t bounce side to side like Hyde. Instead, Carson lines deep in the I-formation, builds up momentum and slams into the line of scrimmage as hard as he can.
Nice combo ...... thanks for posting the link. Glad I circled back to re-read this thread.

Aside from injuries risks, Hyde could be one of the more productive signing of this off season. He could handle the load even if Carson needing a bit more time to get 100%. Besides his style shall work well with Carsons.,

But Hyde is a one year rental, and Carson on his last year of rookie contract, so we are kinda have two one year dudes.

Hyde's $4M contract has just $750K in guaranteed money, (signing bonus). If by the end of preseason the Seahawks RB injury situation looks better, or a rookie looks good, (or of course Hyde looks disappointing), then Hyde is toast. If Hyde makes the Week 1 roster then his $1.5M salary will become guaranteed. After that he can earn up to $500K for the year in game day roster bonuses and there are unlikely to be earned incentives which could add another $1.25M. There's a fair chance Hyde will be cut before Week 1 and then re-signed for Week 2, (especially if the Seahawks only want him for 8-10 games). That would negate the salary guarantee.
