Say what you want, if all you wanted to do was rush the passer and didn't care about getting gashed on the run - the guy was worth it. Honestly, for a team that needed pass rushing help? Not sure why a team does not pick him up.
Tons of respect for a guy that produced for an NFL team with such a significant disadvantage to overcome. And it wasn't just a feel good story, he was a good guy to bring for pressure. If the OL could get hands on him, he was stuck. He got caught in the wash a bit, but if you are a team that has a pass rusher who gets double-teamed regularly, his speed would lead some extra sacks.
