I have the sense that Reid always has his team ready to go for that first game of the season. Kind of the anti-Carroll. His teams don't wait until mid-season to hit their stride.
So I went back and looked at it. In his 22 seasons, Reid is 14 and 8, for a 63.6% win percentage on opening day. That doesn't tell the whole story, though.
In his last 10 seasons, he has only lost once on opening day. That was in 2014, at home, vs Tennessee.
On his last 15 seasons, he is 12-3 for 80%.
Most of his losses are piled early into his career.
