Wilson's hard count

Might just be nitpicking, but it seems like opposing defenses notice it too. Whenever Wilson tries to change the snap count and fake the hike, he yells very loud every single time, yet when he actually snaps the ball his voice stays normal. Seems like he is definetly telegraphing hard counts and defenses almost never even flinch. It's very noticeable when watching and as soon as his voice raises I know he isn't snapping the ball.

I can think of a past memorable occasion where it worked on Aldon Smith :)

Wilson is such an honest, good man that he doesn't want to be deceiving in any way. As opposed to that liar and cheater Aaron Rodgers.

And I agree Wilson telegraphs the hard count. Another thing he does is he'll take out his mouth guard to yell the cadence, then he'll put his mouth guard back in before receiving the snap.

Pretty much every QB in the league tries to draw the defense offsides.

Point is. RW is very bad at it.

Basically, that's it. I just wonder if that's something they actually notice and work on because I have noticed it for years.

I would think being married to Ciara you could receive some acting advice Wilson!

Yeah not a string suite of his, but it has worked at times. Be interesting how he compares with other qbs.

There really are only a couple of QBs around the league that are considered good at the hard count.

And without crowd noise, it's hard to do effectively. Russ isn't particularly good at it. I can think of worse things to suck at.

I think 1) as noted.only time he hard counts is when he doesn't snap but

2) we either runs a quick play or with 1 second left before delay of game

So yes mix up when snapping the ball and tone of voice and I think it will start paying off

Hard counts are inflection not volume, Russ uses Volume, Rodgers who is good at it uses inflection.

I think maybe the benefit of the hard count on around 50% of the snaps means it keeps defenses honest - while we aren't getting the offside penalties that Rodgers gets for example, defenses are aware we're using a hard count once or even twice before snapping, so defenses need to keep their eyes on the ball before moving and it gives the linemen that extra fraction of a second to get into position and protect Wilson, particularly if we then go to snap on the first cadence when defenses are expecting a hard count.

But hey, it gives someone a reason to point out something that he's "bad at"

Yeah shame on me for being curious if anyone else noticed it

Just a thought that I think: If you're going to try to draw the other team off, why not copy their QBs cadence? These guys hear it every day in practice. They know when to jump and are conditioned to it.

Is it me or in the first few games didn't it feel like some of those hard counts were nailing our own guys more than the opposing defenses?
