Long overdue to say the least :?

Ian Rapoport

The #Seahawks are releasing former starting CB Tre Flowers, source said, a move that he recently requested. An experienced corner with four years of starting experience now available.

Wish him the best.

Really wanted to see him build on a promising rookie year. Really, really badly. Seemed like a good dude. Just never put it together after that rookie year.

This is better for both parties I understand why he requested the release.

The fact he requested it I find interesting.

He played his way off the starting team at RCB and was sharply dropping down the DC, and had asked to be released.

His wishes have been granted.

For some around here rejoicing will begin.

To me it appeared he’d lost his confidence in his ability to cover closely and was playing too soft in coverage. Thanks for your services good luck elsewhere.

Now watch him go to the Rams and be All Pro, there are more then a few places that lost players this last week, his agent can call around or already has and why he was requesting the release.

Which brings up a point, why release if you could look for a trade he was a starter here.

So he asked to be released? Wondering why the team didn't try to trade him?

He was setup for failure in Seattle. He will be better off wherever he lands.

This, I think he asked for his release because we are such a mess.

We have absolutely no idea if they tried to trade him or not. Seems like yet more assumptions.
He wasn't that good, and no, he isn't going to become some all pro.
I hope he does well, nothing personal. Seems like a good dude. Just not a very good football player.
Now they will bring in a better Tre.......

Good. Should have happened a year ago. Looks like Pete’s “he’s having his best camp” stuff was BS like a lot of us thought it was. Nothing personal against Flowers as he seems like a good guy, he just couldn’t cover worth a $&@#!

I can't fathom being anything but glad he's off the roster. Dear god, did people even watch him play???

This. Other teams have film of him getting burned play after play so why give up anything.
Playing 10-15 yards off your man, not turning your head to play the ball, and having your guy make catch after catch isnt a desired trait for NFL teams.

The problem is, I don't know if Jones has been any better than Tre Flowers.

And this is the guy that Pete Carroll, just 6 weeks ago, couldn't find enough superlatives to say about him and now he's hitting the bricks. I never did see what it was that Pete saw in him.

The Seahawks could've cut him before the season and saved $2M in cap space. This franchise, man.
