The Mariners are such a pathetic franchise. What will this be now, 43 years and only 4 playoff appearances? The Sonics have been gone for over a decade now and the M's haven't even made the playoffs since they've been gone. We've adopted new teams like the Sounders and the Storm who have had much bigger success than the Mariners who have been around for a long time. I brought it up before, but the Mariners should just start fresh, get rid of the name and all the history and start over. Other than Griffey and the 116 win season, there is nothing to be proud of about this franchise. I don't watch their games anymore, do the announcers and postgame media people even try to spin them as being a successful team anymore? I just don't see how we can compete next season, and it's not like we can rebuild with the current team.
