Love it. Great consolation to Robert Hunt in terms of rock-solid guards. He's a guy who I think is ready to start day 1. He'll battle.

If you've got a player on the trade block, maybe McDougald or someone, now is the moment to package him

Interesting pick. A lot of tackles went off the board, a few of whom I think were versatile enough to play guard as well such as Hunt. Think Lewis was the first one listed as a guard. His NFL prediction was round 4-5. Not sure if they grabbed the best guard available, but glad they addressed the position.

Have heard tackle Josh Jones' name quite a lot, who was picked shortly after Lewis. No idea why he fell so far, but he was once projected as a first round talent.

Cutting RG DJ Fluker would save $3.5 Mil
Cutting C Justin Britt would save $8.5 Mil

I fell like one of them has to go

I don't know much about Lewis. But these mid round o-linemen picks of drafts past don't inspire any confidence. I just hope he's better than Terry Poole, Rees Odhiambo. That's all I ask.

Of all the positions, I would have bet they weren't going to pick a guard or a punter. I don't want to go check but they now have as many guards as they do DL. I really like Lewis and think he and Haynes will be a great pair for a long time. But, how many of those recent signings can they release to save some money? Today's two picks make yesterdays a little easier to accept.

A note: Damien Lewis claims that he also is comfortable playing LG and Center. This could very well be a guy they have competing at center.

Wow you are right lol. We have 9 guards, 5 tackles, and three center/guards. That's a lot of damn guards. Hopefully Lewis proves to be an upgrade.

Would cutting Britt give us the cash to resign Clowney?
OTC has us at about 12.5m. Cutting Btitt frees up another 8.5 I think.

I count 14 interior linemen as well. I suspect that the guys that can move the line of scrimmage will prevail for roster spots. Bully football. A minimum of 8 linemen will be active on game day. There is the possibility for a high energy rotation. Not unlike what we saw at left guard in 2013. Plenty of surplus post draft trade possibilities as well.

A bully run blocking game will really punish those opponents lacking a sufficient base defense. Maybe break some wills. Looking forward to the changes.

It’s just nice to see actual offensive lineman brought into compete instead of projects.
