Baker might play CB in the NFL due to his size. Woo ching was probably the worst defensive player on he team last year. He over pursues, misses tackles, etc.

It's interesting how opposing team's fans look upon this as a bad thing for the Huskies, it is not, in fact, it is EXACTLY what you want if you desire to be a top-tier program. These athletes don't come to Oregon for the glory of the state of Oregon, unless of course, they are from Oregon, but even then, their top players are currently choosing UW. Why? It's simple, not only is UW on the upswing but they are getting a lot of players, including underclassmen, drafted in the 1st and 2nd round.

It's a great recruiting tool and that seems to be reflected in this year's team recruiting rankings.

Washington's defense was truly special this last year, especially in the secondary.

With 3 of the starters leaving, does anyone know what the new starters look like ?

Also, how is the depth on the DL looking ? Who is in line to replace Qualls ?

Peterson is a very good recruiter, and having a top notch DC, increased TV coverage, and guys getting drafted in the first couple of rounds (and playing well at the NFL level) is getting more scouts to UW games. That's going to make it easier to get top end talent, not just in Washington and Oregon but also California.

I'm not worried about reloading, just curious if anyone knows how we'll look next year after losing 4 guys to the draft.

My guess is that on the d'line Vita Vea will slide over and take Elijah Qualls spot and that Jaylon Johnson will start at the DE where Vea was. There should be little to no dropoff with the starters. Depth on D'line, especially at defensive tackle might be a little bit thin. They did not sign a DT in last years recruiting class, and only have 1 commited in this class and all indications are that he's about to flip his commitment to USC.

DB's should be a pretty stacked group once again with a ton of quality, just not as much experience. Taylor Rapp, who was the pac 12 defensive freshman of the year will take Budda Bakers spot. And you have several good options at CB.
