In fairness to Alex, it was Rocky Bernard that took away from him physically. That and the mismanagement of the surgeries afterwards did some irrevocable damage.
Also, his risk aversion usually goes down when he gets more comfortable with the offense and his receivers.
My only real issue with him has been a reluctance to go downfield when he absolutely needs to. Last year this was a more glaring issue I thought than the year before. The small ball is fine so long as you are willing to sling it when it's mandatory.
Should be interesting to see what goes down against the Giants next weekend whom have given him trouble lately.
