I'd invite you to look up some Amidon tape. He's a day 3 prospect who I offered as an alternative to spending a first round pick on Beckham. There are elements to his game that are very good. Last year, he had more drops than I'd like, but he seems to have improved this year considerably. His burst out of his stance, and his ability to stop/redirect on a dime is impressive. As is his ability to work through press coverage. He is a 6-8 catch per game guy and his quickness really just jumps out at you when you watch his tape.
I just took a look at his game vs. Wake Forrest last year. I personally have a bit of a hard time judging the speed or quickness of WR's especially on youtube clips. That said, his quickness off the line does look good I just can't tell if its elite or just good. I also couldn't really tell if he has deep speed to take the cover off a defense, but with slot WR's I'm not too concerned with deep speed. He looked good at finding soft spots in the defense, quick feet to get in and out of breaks. He had a few drops in the game and I didn't see the body control to adjust to errant balls. I think have I a BC game on my DVR from last week or the week before, so I'll go back and try to get a better look at him.
I have really only been scouting bigger WR's even scouting underclassmen who are unlikely to declare for the draft. I wanted to compare Amidon to a player similer in size and also a mid-round prospect so I took a look at Oregon St WR Brandin Cooks. In the game vs Colorado Cooks played outside a lot and not too much in the slot. Cooks showed quickness, good speed, quick feet and an ability to sink his hips to get in and out of his breaks. He showed nice body control to get errant balls, but nothing special. He took a couple of good hits so he may have the toughness you would want in a slot WR. Going off one game tape of each player I would rate Cooks maybe two rounds ahead of Amidon, but one tape on each player really isn't fair.
Since we are taking smaller WR's, what are your thoughts on Cooks? And what is your opinion of Kent St RB/WR/KR Dri Archer? Archer is the same height, weight, and on the field speed as Rams WR Tavon Austin minus the experience of actually playing WR. Archer is coming off an injury, but he is healthy now hence his 90+ yard kick return for a TD last week. Archer could be the KR/PR and possibly be the 4th WR.
Here is Cooks vs. Colorado.

Here is Archer's highligns from 2012, the level of competition is the greatest until you see him running away from SEC Kentuky players.

If given the option of,
A) selecting Cooks in the 3rd round (this scenario we accuire a 3rd round pick)
B) selecting Amidon in the 4th round
or
C) selecting Archer in the 4th round
Which would you choose?
