Bad Luck: 5 fumbles 0 recoveries

Football Outsiders did a whole article about this. The point was: forcing a fumble takes talent, recovering a fumble is random.

It was a super close game. Panthers fans can cry about a missed FG and Seahawks fans can come right back, saying you should have lost 3 fumbles.

It seemed like all 3 of McCaffrey's fumbles were all plain drops. Hey has terrible ball security yesterday. If he's going to gift wrap turnovers like that, this defense needs to do whatever it takes to get the ball. Hopefully this won't be a trend down the stretch. If this defense won't force turnovers, they absolutely need to make teams pay for their own mistakes.

It's not like they weren't trying to recover the fumbles. Some games the ball just bounces the way of one team, a lot. Incredibly lucky bounces, yet we still won. Shoot, on that punt, how in hell doesn't it hit that guy? Unreal.

Yup, the long n short of it. But creating the opportunity alone is huge.

I really just love the fact that Scam had one of his best days, and McCaffrey absolutely shredded us and we still won with just one pick. It had to leave Cam reaching for towly. :twisted:

They only punted once all day on a 3 and out; their shortest drive was 45 yards. Bet they're still trying to figure out how the hell they lost that one.
