Doug Baldwin is a fine WR, but if he is the best WR on the team then we still have a crappy WR group.

A good offense can't have a guy like Baldwin as the best WR. So he isn't part of the problem, but him being the best is part of the problem....

Well he just tied Daryl Turner for most receiving touchdowns in a Seahawks season at 13, and with two games to go, which is one more than Hall of Fame receiver Steve Largent ever had in a season. So there's that.

Baldwin is now ranked #23 in receiving yards...he has 65 receptions for 905 yards. He is also tied for 1st in the NFL with 13- TD receptions. Just for sake of scale, Tate is ranked #46 in yards...he has 76 receptions for 675 yards and 4 receiving TD's.

Our WRs look pedestrian because the lack of touches. We are a run first team, when our WRs are not going downfield on passing or running plays they are blocking. We don't pass the ball 40-50 times a game, we are balance offense, the difference is that we are now using more of our WR to score in the red zone, for the past few years we were relying on the run game to score in the redzone, is it a coincidence that it changed when Lynch went out, and now all of a sudden Wilson and Baldwin are balling out of control.

In another thread I proposed to trade Baldwin this off season for Josh Gordon if reinstated (since there were rumors they'd trade Gordon). That was probably a couple weeks before he started to play like a HOF. :34853_doh:

Maybe they can still get Gordon without giving up Baldwin though.

Just what we need...another guy to screw up the chemistry. Josh Gordon is the VERY LAST thing this team needs.

The offense was starting to get going just before Graham got injured so it doesn't seem to me adding a big name like Graham/Gordon was the problem.

Gordon
Baldwin
Lockett
Richardson

Graham
