A lifelong Pats fan here.. if this is true, fine Belichick $1M and ban him from SB. Absent that, and if it's true, I can't root for them in SB with a clear conscience, not to mention my anger with Belichick's and Brady's response yesterday/today. To cheat against the Colts.. a team you've owned. That would be the lowest of lows.

I'm offended by the Patriots stupidity. I mean, they could've hid the deflated balls in a casino elevator. No way would ol Rog or the league find them then.

Welcome to the national media's Patriots-hate circus, Seahwaks fans.

With all due respect to everyone...

I'm sending this thread over to Bill directly so he can hang it up on the bulletin board for the next two weeks!!

I love this stuff...keep it comin'!

On that note, does anyone have the footage of Bill deflating the balls? Can someone point me over to the Mike McCarthy hate-thread from Week 13 when Aaron Rodgers publicly admitted to sneaking over-inflated balls into play? (before they beat the Patriot's no less) 8)

http://espn.go.com/blog/boston/new-engl ... tball-talk

I wish we could focus on the game...

Because if Aaron Rodgers tries to cheat that justifies Brady and Belichick intentionally cheating by deflating balls AFTER they have been inspected by the referees? Two people cheating makes it right, huh? :34853_doh:

Of course a Pats fan would say this.

THe focus will not be on the game.

That won't be the Seahawks fault. And it won't provide imaginary fuel for your team either. YOu actually think guys will play harder because of this? If they need extra motivation to play for a championship besides winning a championship they suck.

Certainly extra scrutiny comes to winners, you know that. But to pretend this is exclusively because the Patriots win is stupid. Bill has always lived in the margins of the rules, and it bites his ass sometimes.

Take 11 million off the Patriots Salary Cap for 11 years. Take the patriots next 11 draft picks. Raise each item in concessions at home games $11 dollars. Force all $2 dollars whores in the Boston area to charge $11.

This is the only fair punishment.

What I don't understand is...

How do you do this when your name can so easily be combined with the word "cheat". That will stick with him forever. Ouch.

League will fine them, or take a draft pick. Nothing will affect the SB. Nor should it.

This. Hey, there is an old adage, "If you ain't cheating, you ain't trying." Problem is, Belichick now has a pretty good track record of it, and the league shouldn't be cool with it.

I don't think they should do anything to affect the Super Bowl. The Colts weren't winning that game on Sunday even if the Patriots carried balls ten pounds over-inflated, so there's no reason the Patriots could be said to be there without deserving it 100%. As far as being a distraction leading up to the Super Bowl, I have no sympathy there. You make your bed you lie in it. Let the league enforce something after the game. They do have precedence with the Saints. I'd expect to see something similar.

Isnt Bill the one who likes collecting video tape of people?

Your coach is a douche, and has been caught with his hand in the cookie jar one too many times.

Enough is enough with this team. Belichick needs to be suspended immediately. It won't happen because the NFL is too gutless but as the leader of that team he needs to be the one an example is made of regardless of who's at fault. There is now a documented history of this team bending the rules to their advantage under his guidance and thus far he's escaped virtually unscathed, giving him the benefit of the doubt should not be an option now. The NFL already has set the precedent of suspending a coach for an entire season, but pulling a stunt like this in a championship game should result in immediate suspension, not something pushed into next season, that's what the loss of draft picks are for. Trying to tilt an unfair advantage to your side in a game as big as the AFC Championship is a black mark on the integrity of the game and shouldn't be ignored with a slap on the wrist and postponed punishment.

I think it's pretty lame what they did but at the same time this is not good for the Seahawks. This will just motivate the Pats more and give them more to prove against us IMO.

Isn't this the same petty team that filed tampering charges against the Jets for stating they would like Revis back. So let's review dont do anything even remotely out of bounds against us or we will file charges. In the meantime let's not have the fact that we were caught cheating again become a narrative that we may cheat? I wonder if Rodger will burn the game balls and use the light from it to write his fine up for Lynch grabbing his balls?

I don't think inflated balls are he biggest deal in the world.

Now, what is a big deal - how many times have the patriots been caught cheating now?

And how many illegal things are they doing that they AREN'T getting caught for?

NFL has to crack down, just have too.
They will, but not in relation to the game.

My guess is in the end some equipment manager or ball boy will get blamed. There will be a fine. People will say Belicheat a lot. He won't give a shit.
