It was actually Sherman Smith who was saying last week that, after three off-seasons, Michael had not yet pulled his head out of you know where (my paraphrase).

There are literally no more excuses for Christine. His home town, pocket QB, arguably the top run blocking offensive line this season (neck-in-neck with Baltimore, IMO). And Dallas desperately needs to find a RB. If he does not succeed now, that is on him.

If we are making assumptions on what players will become you can say Rawls is the second coming of Chris Warrren.

It took Forsett a long and windy path to finally have a career year last year.

We are dropping 5th and 6th rounders for journeymen and JAGs and yet can't pull anything better than a conditional 7th for a guy who has some pretty legit pro tape (even if he might be a headcase).

We should've just cut him and not given Dallas the satisfaction of destroying us on this trade.

More likely he runs in the wrong direction, loses yards by dancing backwards, and fumbles twice en route to the Cowboys losing a wild card game.

I don't understand the fascination with Michael. Yeah, he's supremely athletic, but he had 2 full seasons and a third training camp to show progress and gain the trust of the coaching staff and couldn't do it.

Also seen a few comments along the lines of "another wasted high draft pick"...Seattle probably has the best record in the first 3 rounds of the draft since JS/PC took over:

I get the concern over the Dallas O-Line, but will that suddenly cure all Michael's other issues? .

Keep in mind that DeMarco Murray has long had a fumble problem, and he led the NFL in RB fumbles last season. It still worked out pretty well for the Cowboys as a trade off to Murray's awesome running ability. There are some teams who are adamant about ball security and there are some who view it as a trade off thing.

What strikes me as odd is that Fred Jackson, though I love the signing, had the highest fumble rate in the NFL last year for any RB with 200+ touches. And Marshawn himself had just 1 fewer fumble than Murray did while touching the ball 130 fewer times. That makes me wonder if Michael was traded for ball security reasons as much as we've been led to believe. I'm sure the ball security hurts his case, but I'm starting to think it's a fit thing. IMO, He's not really clicking with Cable's system. Too much of a finesse back. Lynch and Jackson are rumblers.

Also means that someone else wasn't interested and this was the only offer, and maybe he won't be good down there and I'm overreacting in my other posts. 8)

I think this also means that Stephen Jones is running things more in Dallas, we could have at least gotten an unconditional 5th out of the old Crypt Keeper Jerruh.
