I read that more as taking the pressure of Cliff to be on the field. Stressing his long term health is more important than a single game.

Agree.

I don't know if people are really aware of what is going on with Avril here, but this may very well be the end of his career in the NFL.

It's possible he has cervical spinal stenosis and the spine extension caused pressure on the spinal cord. That can put him at risk of paralysis if he plays further. That's the only thing I can think of that would be career threatening. Most normal stingers aren't that serious.

And most "normal" stingers are in the shoulder and affect only one arm. The fact that both arms were tingling and weakened points toward a neck/spinal problem, which should be treated very carefully.
