Damn it I totally forgot to make my pick. Oh well.
You can still pick the Mon night game.....

Well seeing that I already picks th Panthers, my week 5 choice is Tampa Bay Bucs by default.

I just realized that I'd already selected the Bills in an earlier loss which moved me down to the consolation round. Does the duplicate rule follow from the winners bracket to the consolation round or was my Bills pick still available?

Also, is it safe to assume that if my bills pick was a duplicate that it's too late to go with the Panthers this week as my "pick" has already played?

Hey kidhawk - you can change a duplicate pick as long as there is a team left to play still, so you can take the Panthers.

I'll update it. If I notice when duplicates are made, I'll point them out - but I don't always notice.

To answer your first question - the duplicate rule is for the whole game, so it includes both Winners and Consolation rounds, with no re-set of teams available.

I kind of figured that was how it went, but I was hoping not, as that means I have to break my own rule and pick a favorite this week, as I've already used Tampa....so for the sake of sticking in the game, I'll go with the Panthers and kick myself for paying too much attention to picking underdogs and not enough attention to who I'd already picked.

Well that must be some kind of irony...forced (by my own stupidity) to have to break my own rule and go with a favorite and THAT is the time I end my run in the competition

I change my mind, I'm going back to the Panthers!

Damn Ravens, should have known better than to trust Flacco. He's right up there with Eli Manning for the most unimpressively overpaid and overrated QB's of all time.

Well, at least you can feel good that your second choice woulda had the same result anyway.

Just want to make sure my week 5 pick of TB counted. Posted it a few posts above well before the MNF game (11:34 AM on Monday).

I need to stop waiting to make my picks. I just need to get them in as early as possible.

Ok, charts updated. For all who wonder if your pick was included - it was. I'm just not as fast this week due to work travel.

@Kidhawk - !! ah, sorry to see the irony of your late pick take you out. I was liking your strategy.

To all who are just out - this year has been tough, good picks and hard losses.

And, seems worth pointing out that the Consolation Round has 4 players who only missed Week 1 and have picked perfect since: Erebus, IndyHawk, Penihawk, and RolandDeshain. With a special mention for The_Z_Man who just now missed. Nice on all you!

Off to another tough one: Week 6.

(and as always, please check your record in my charts for accuracy)

Side note: I'm listing all teams by their city.

But, bigskydoc's pick was just so unusual for this year that I've decided that pick will go by the team name for the rest of the year.

Week 6: Tennessee Titans

This one worries me though. The Browns can't possibly lose every game this year and Mariota is wicked inconsistent. Just hand the rock to Murray and Henry.
