I am ecstatic with this haul.

we get a backup safety who is fast! Adrian amos PRO DAY RESULTS
40-yard dash: 4.37 and 4.4 seconds
Bench press: 21 reps of 225 pounds

fast + strong has length we want.

Alani Fua has the perfect rotational Leo frame 6"5 And 4.7 and fast shuttle times.
Brock hekking is another Leo candiadate and a boz reincarnated ran a 4.59 and benched 225 29 times...

Frank Clark is another Dline rusher who had a incident in college but other wise is a 3rd rounder value. he has worked hard to make up for his mistakes and learn from them.

Love Amos as a CB for us.

Clark is a tough one. seahawksdraftblog has a new feature on him, and you watch his film and he screams LEO and Seahawks and top 10 pick. Super quick, violent with his hands, makes plays in both the run and pass games.

But then you read the police report of his domestic violence incident. Children running to neighbors because they are afraid Frank is going to kill their sister . . . that's a tough one to swallow. And his posted apology seems pretty insincere to me.

I disagree he has gotten therapy and help for his mistake, I thought his apology is sincere.

Got a lower score, in part due to some undervalued late round selections and in part to trading up quite a bit to get impact players . . . but I'd be really happy with this draft. I'm including comments for variation:

Round 3 Pick 2 (TENN): Devin Smith, WR, Ohio State (A) - Traded down once for a 4th round pick. Smith seems to fit the present profile of Seahawks receivers in that he has speed to burn and a penchant for the big play. He doesn't have incredible size, but is adequate. Along with Dorsett he's one of my odds on favorites to be in Seattle.
Round 3 Pick 17 (BUF): Michael Bennett, DT, Ohio State (A) - Traded up to get the other Michael Bennett. This one is more DT than DE but in many ways plays a similar game. A quick twitch, up field penetrator who can get buried if he doesn't win off the snap. Highly athletic.
Round 3 Pick 22 (ARI): Alex Carter, CB, Stanford (A) - Traded up from the 4th again. I look at Cary Williams contract and it screams one year tryout. Seattle always picks a CB, usually in this area, and has traded up for one in the past (Tharold Simon). Carter is long and wily, but needs to learn to be physical. That will come.
Round 4 Pick 35 (COMP): Tyrus Thompson, OT, Oklahoma (A-) - Tyrus is a true tackle with LT athletic ability. He will take a little coaching, but could challenge to start by next year as a possible Okung inusrance policy.
Round 5 Pick 34 (COMP): Jamil Douglas, OG, Arizona State (A) - A true interior prospect with decent length, Douglas has the athletic traits to push for time at LG or backup both guard spots. He's one of the best movement blockers in this class.
Round 6 Pick 34 (COMP): Frank Clark, DE, Michigan (D) - There is no chance Clark is hear this late. Red flags (legitimate) drive him down, especially in today's NFL, and frankly I'd hate having him on the team, but his skills are remarkable as a potential LEO. He doesn't have long speed, but his short area burst and agility numbers are outstanding, and he plays on fire on the field. You like everything but the police report. It's as gruesome as they come.
Round 6 Pick 39 (COMP): Alani Fua, OLB, Brigham Young (B)
Round 7 Pick 31: Junior Sylvestre, OLB/ILB, Toledo (C+) These last tow picks could be just about anything, but I picked two athletic linebackers. Fua is right on the border athletically but he has that long, Wright like build. Sylvestre is a small school prospect with big school speed, one of the few burners in this linebacker class. Both will make a mark on special teams.

I thought I would go ahead and share my latest attempt. This was the product of a few choice trade downs. I did my best to put my John Schneider lenses on and to see things through his eyes. So, forget the overall grade -- can you imagine if the Hawks end up with a haul like this? ...

Your score is: 5968 (GRADE: B+)

Your Picks:
Round 3 Pick 22 (ARI): Marcus Hardison, DT, Arizona State (B+)
Round 3 Pick 31: Jay Ajayi, RB, Boise State (A)
Round 4 Pick 4 (JAX): Ronald Darby, CB, Florida State (A)
Round 4 Pick 6 (WASH): Rob Havenstein, OT, Wisconsin (B+)
Round 4 Pick 13: Andy Gallik, C, Boston College (B)
Round 4 Pick 24 (ARI): Kenny Bell, WR, Nebraska (A-)
Round 4 Pick 25 (CAR): Darren Waller, WR/TE, Georgia Tech (B)
Round 4 Pick 35 (COMP): MyCole Pruitt, TE, Southern Illinois (B-)
Round 5 Pick 7 (DEN): Shaquille Mason, OG/C, Georgia Tech (B)
Round 5 Pick 11 (CLE): Austin Shepherd, OT, Alabama (C)
Round 5 Pick 25 (CAR): Chris Conley, WR, Georgia (A-)
Round 5 Pick 28 (DEN): Clayton Geathers, SS, UCF (B)
Round 5 Pick 31: Jake Ryan, OLB/ILB, Michigan (A-)
Round 5 Pick 34 (COMP): Christian Covington, DT, Rice (B+)
Round 6 Pick 5: Joey Mbu, DT, Houston (D-)
Round 6 Pick 34 (COMP): Craig Mager, CB, Texas State (D+)
Round 6 Pick 39 (COMP): Kyle Emanuel, OLB, North Dakota State (B)
Round 7 Pick 12 (CLE): Titus Davis, WR, Central Michigan (A)
Round 7 Pick 31: Frank Clark, DE, Michigan (C)

I believe this would cover nearly every hole we have ... and it would have been better. With the 28th pick in the 5th Round, the real player I was targeting was FS Adrian Amos. Wouldn't you know it -- he got drafted with the 27th pick that round. I don't know about you guys, but players I'm targeting seem to always get taken 1-2 picks before mine.

Anyway, what do you guys think? Could you live with a draft like this?

I don't thin he's a player the Hawks would be interested in at all.

Round 3 Pick 31: B.J. Finney, C, Kansas State (A-)
Round 4 Pick 13: Henry Anderson, DE, Stanford (B)

Round 4 Pick 35 (COMP): Ben Koyack, TE, Notre Dame (A+)
Round 5 Pick 31: Tyler Varga, FB, Yale (A+)

Round 6 Pick 39 (COMP): Stefon Diggs, WR, Maryland (A+)

It seems when I refuse to draft the "tempting WR" early like Dorsett, Devin Smith etc, the overall draft goes a lot better.

In this game Devin Smith is almost always available at #63. Even traded down twice and still got him. Hopefully the real draft goes down like that.

The trade with SF was highly unrealistic though.

I went in trading down and planning to not pick a wr.

Dorsett fell so far I had to pick him. Our new leo is the sparq monster of the draft and will compete with ryan delaire.

Cox is a NB, Mcbride is the returner.

Had the same kind of experience Titan3131 had -- Frank Clark (whom I was targeting at 7/31 went with the 30th pick. I could NOT believe it). I would have gone with Jarvis Harrison, but he was gone in the early part of the 7th. Also, I was targeting Shaq Mason with the 5/10 ... he went 5/4.

Still, if the Hawks walked away from this draft with this package, I'd be an extremely happy camper.

Ya think I addressed the issues at WR and OL? LOL! :p
