The top NFL safety contract belongs to Eric Berry who is getting $78 million over 6 years. So Berry earns a little more per year ($13M vs. $10M), but Earl's deal is still one of the highest for his position.
Until TV revenue starts to decline, it will be interesting to see if things have reached their peak level, all the rule changes and Officials botching games have tainted things a bit for historical fans. Think it is part of the reason to legalize gambling, the hope is draw more parties that have a stake in things to a viewership.
