Lucas to IR with undiagnosed leg issue

Cross with turf toe (which usually turns into a long-term, nagging issue)

Geno probably not going to perform well.

The predicted "strong" offense now looks like a liability, and the predicted "improved" defense may have regressed.

Wonderful.

So those two signings from the Bucs' and Raiders' practice squads means those two guys go right to the active roster, right? And Jason Peters is on the practice squad?

So apparently Jason Peters is more washed than we'd hoped.

Not necessarily. NFL rules dictate that you have to sign players off other teams PS to main roster. That's why the Seahawks had to sign them to the roster and could keep Peters on PS. Has nothing to do with Peters being washed.

From what I have read, this injury requires at least 6 weeks of rest to heal. This really sucks, because Abe Lucas is one of my favorite players. Geno will have his hands full going against the Lions without our starting tackles. This could get ugly. Bet the Lions to cover the spread.

Losing both our 2nd year tackles really hurts but if Peters & whoever can fill in and Dissly can be a 3rd tackle all may not be lost. We still have WR's & RB's that must be accounted for and a new TE look could be huge for the running game. Quick slants, screens, draws and Geno taking off & using his legs will keep them honest.
If we don't adapt accordingly DC's will blitz us like blood in the water and it won't be pretty.
