Unless his shoulder is pretty bad, I don't get why he lasted long enough to go to to the Pats. Isn't he a better blocker/reciever than Willson and Vannett? He'd be our best blocking TE and one of the best run blocking TE's in the league?

Passing medical and being deemed fine by Patriots staff would help him in litigation against the Packers.

Without a doubt the Packers will try to get their signing bonus remaining back and it will be interesting how an arbitrator / court would deem the fact that he comes back and is productive (assuming he is)

At the end of the day by the letter of the law it should only matter if he had the shoulder injury prior to signing or not but performance may sway things anyways

Bennett is full of crap. Mike Kuhn, Jordy Nelson, and LeRoy Butler are all saying the exact opposite about the Packers doc. He's probably playing it up because he's ring-chasing and knows Green Bay isn't going anywhere this year, so why not go back to the team that won him a ring before?

Belichick out there playing 4D chess. Got Martellus back for pennies. His injury might magically heal.
Stupidity is a difficult injury to heal but I imagine Belichick finds a way to get something out of the oaf.

Or Not....

Two weeks into his return to New England, the veteran tight end is being placed on injured reserve by the Patriots, a source informed of the situation told NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport on Monday. The team later confirmed the move.

The decision comes one day after Bennett was inactive for the team's 35-17 win over Miami due to shoulder and hamstring injuries. Rapoport was told the move has more to do with the veteran's banged-up hamstring, but the early wrap to his season will give Bennett the chance to finally undergo shoulder surgery
