And Rice didn't even do it at the defender, IIRC. He had his back to him when he spun it and the rule specifically states it's an infraction if it's done "directly at" a player (basically taunting.)

Yep, that's why I remember it. We got screwed.

I thnk it's just one of those irregularly called penalties (e.g. a ref will call it to make a point if he thinks the game is getting out of control, or it will be called if a player is warned about it and then dumb enough to do it again, etc.).

Whatever it is, Johnson is idiot for it, and should cut it out. I'm hoping the coaching staff said something to him about it.

Yep.. I was hoping he would stop that.

Tate had the taunting penalty but overall wasn't a constant instigator.

Boldin is a fantastic player and obviously tough as nails. In addition he is a veteran. He doesn't have any business head-butting anyone. I do like him as a player.
