According to this article, we should re-sign Poona Ford and Frank Clark.By letting Poona, Jefferson, Woods, Collier Barton go, we are making wholesale changes to our front seven.
How do you think we should replace those players?

Draft picks, think a NT in Mazi will fill the bill? DEs, we signed Jones, we have a part timer in Reed, should we draft Kancey? Wouldn't he be kinda short as 3-4 DE?3-4's require a war daddy Vita Vea type in the middle, two versatile inside and edge setters on both sides, two inside LB's that can fill gaps and two outside twitchy edge/LB's that can cover in space AND rush the passer.
So take your pick on who we need to fill all those roles, only 2-3 of which are filled already with the guys on the roster and new signings.
But to answer your question, youth, that's what we need. No more bargain basement over the hill vets who break down by week 11 or 12 with diminished return.
Some of those guys can be rotation guys, but not depended on to start. We gotta get young in the front seven.
Again, why I think 75% of our draft picks this year are going to be front seven.
We played a ton of 2-4-5, a scheme would places a huge burden on the ILBs to be able to shoot gaps, play disciplined and shed blockers. Our ILB position really got exploited. The funny thing is that Seattle played very well against the run when actually lined up in a 3-4 formation. They got taken behind the woodshed in other fronts.
If that was the case, weren't be our coaches failed to play to our strength or mask our weaknesses? We played a ton of 2-4-5, a scheme would places a huge burden on the ILBs to be able to shoot gaps, play disciplined and shed blockers. Our ILB position really got exploited.
We are making wholesale changes to our front 7. Basing what we have been doing, would you guesstimate we are doubling down on moving away from 4-3?Teams like the Bucs (London game) will always run at a 2-4-5 alignment if presented an opportunity. Hawks are better off sticking to 34 or 43 concepts for most downs.
Yes, that was an issue. 2-4-5 really highlighted our weakness at D-Line and ILB.If that was the case, weren't be our coaches failed to play to our strength or mask our weaknesses?
If the Hawks draft a nose tackle that is very likely. We are making wholesale changes to our front 7. Basing what we have been doing, would you guesstimate we are doubling down on moving away from 4-3?
I don’t agree with spending a high draft pick on a NT who is a space eater which can be found in later rounds or UDFA that will do the same thing. I see Kancey as a penetrating 3 tech in a 4-3. The Hawks will need 2 more DEs, LB, Safety, RB, OG in addition to a NTDraft picks, think a NT in Mazi will fill the bill? DEs, we signed Jones, we have a part timer in Reed, should we draft Kancey?
