Think about how the 49ers missed the SB champion part 3 years in a row, losing to the eventual champs each season.
Carolina had some good teams in recent years, had a really strong team in 2015 and failed.
Atlanta snuck in last year, should have won and oh so close, but no cigar.
Baltimore put it together for one year and hasn't gotten close since.
Saints looked really good to go back in 2011, and got upended in the divisional round. Now they're possibly a threat to go back.
These are all teams that were better than the Seahawks are now, and just as good as their 2014 team.
So very hard to win SBs, I'll never take them for granted until the end of time.
The Seahawks defense and run game from 2012-2014 were pretty special. It carried the team enough to take down other strong opponents and go to the big game back to back. Wilson only had to make a handful of plays a game to win, and he was tailor made to do just that.
People may have underestimated the difficulty in doing that, and often time you win the big game with a great QB or elite run game & defense (and in both cases some lucky bounces of the ball and injury luck), the latter which doesn't last forever.
