So, the major issue is now whether Goodell saw the footage before he handed down the punishment or not? Jesus Christ, who gives a flying shack word. I dislike the guy as much as anybody else here, but what the hell goddam difference does it really make?

Ray Rice punched his girlfriend. She's over it, we should all be too. This is so dumb.
That's cool that you can just get over people representing one thing and then lying to you about it. There's actually a lot of complex social issues at play and maybe the rest of us want to talk it out. If you've had your fill of domestic violence conversation, go ahead and find another dumb thread that appeals to you.

Apparently all of the talk about how Ray Rice didn't get special treatment gets more interesting:

TRENTON, N.J. -- The pretrial intervention program offered to Ray Rice in the assault case involving his wife was granted in less than 1 percent of all domestic violence assault cases from 2010-13 that were resolved, according to New Jersey Judiciary data obtained Friday by "Outside the Lines."

Rice and his then-fiancee, Janay Palmer, were arrested on Feb. 15 and charged with simple assault after an incident at an Atlantic City casino. Janay's charges were later dropped, but on March 27, an Atlantic City grand jury increased Ray Rice's assault charge to aggravated assault-bodily injury in the third degree causing bodily harm and one count of simple assault. If convicted of the felony, Rice faced a penalty of three to five years in prison.

For all of you that think she has forgiven him try this, look at your wife and or girlfriend or significant other, think about spitting on them and then punching them, not once but twice, then think about how much they will forgive you and care for you afterwards. Also believe that it will happen in a few weeks.

Yeah I thought so.

Better yet ask some of our female members how much they would forgive someone that spit on them and punched them and knocked them out.

Yeah I thought so.

Now I want you to do exactly what Chris said, except this time, you're worth $18 million.

Yeah, I though so.

She stays with you.

Anybody who disagrees is not worth $18 million, and thus, has no reference point.

This is horribly ignorant and sad.

Do you know why every state prosecutes DV regardless of how the victim feels about it? Because they ALWAYS are "over it".

So does that mean none of us should care about domestic violence? How about the children that often witness it, and then are abused as well? Screw them, right? That's their problem. Why should I care?

Why should I care about any victim of violence? It's not my problem. I mean, yeah, being human means having sympathy, and having sympathy means wanting to protect victims, but why?

We should all be less human.

I can't even believe that nonsense came from you. You're generally a pretty sensible dude. But that comment is pure and total BS.

So, what of the aftermath of this incident?

DV (in the private sector, anyway) is swept under a rug unless somebody wants to dig it up, while the dude that some mom caught scratching his sac while sitting on a park bench 20 yards away from the jungle gym is marked for life on the sex offender's list.

I'm no Nostradamus, but get ready, the nuclear winter from this debacle will soon put names on a list too, and there's gonna be a ton of people hoping it's not retroactive legislation.

What the hell are you talking about? DV and child molestation, how do those things even get in the same paragraph?

You don't get busted for scratching your nuts near a playground. That's just absurd. Why would you even defend sex offenders? Disturbing.

Ray Rice spit in a woman's face twice and then knocked her unconscious with two punches to the face, thrown as hard as he could. Eff that guy. He's trash. I hope he wasted all his money and ends up begging. And I hope when he's begging that some people spit in his face. He's human trash. He's garbage. He's not a man, he's a cowardly animal. I don't feel sorry for him. I hope that woman's dad our brother kicks his ass because that's what he deserves.

As far as child molesters, they should be thrown in the ocean miles at sea and left to swim for their lives. Scum of all scum.

This is called the "throwing people under the bus" portion of the process.

The Ravens will announce that they've completed their internal investigation, and found that there were certain people (person) that dropped the ball and didn't do their job properly, blah blah blah................*someone you've never heard of gets fired or demoted.*

Thank you Ravens fans, we love you please keep buying tickets and jerseys!
