I will join the chorus of wishing it was Cable. I have to admit, I was actually curious to see what Bevel could do with Wilson and a half competent offensive line. I’m curious to see what he does in his next stop. Yes, he is slow to adjust, and his situational awareness is lacking, but I think he is a competent, if only slightly above average, offensive coordinator. I do think he would do better, in all regards, if he had a pocket for Russ to work in. He wasn’t, in any way, the restrictor plate on this offense.

I’m marginally optimistic, but won’t be particularly happy until Cable is tired.

I suspect that wishing Cable gone as well is majority view around here.

For those saying not to get an old tired "retread" you must forget that Pete Carroll was a retread... I'm all for finding the next McVay but that's easier said than done. There is something to be said about guys that have been successful in the NFL and have that experience.

Now if they do go with a college guy I hope they bring in someone that was heavy in recruiting for the past 5+ years and will bring with him that knowledge of diamonds in the rough like Pete did when he first got here. I believe most of the guys from the first few drafts were all guys Pete Carroll had at USC or had recruited to USC.

I'm fairly sure not one poster is opposed to it.

Ohh they are out there....

No Sark. For gods sake, no Sark.

If Cable gets elevated, it may be a good thing. Offensive line might improve without his micromanaging.

Misunderstanding and quoting Maelstrom doesn't really make your point...

Jammer is probably correct; while there were a few who spoke in Bevell's favor (some vehemently) and a few who were cautious, I cannot remember ever reading anything on this site in favor of Cable. The above is as close as it gets, and it's only a backhanded compliment to the potential of Cable not touching the O-line directly anymore.

I wish people would stop saying getting rid of Cable was more important than getting rid of Bevell.

I don't find that to be true, if you don't believe me watch the goal line play of SB 49 20 times, then watch the all 22 of every game for the past 3 years, then tell me we didn't need a new guy at OC.

The play-calls throughout every game were puzzling 50% of the time.

Not sure why ESPN 710 Seattle is all over Bevell's nuts not wanting him to get fired, don't understand that opinion.

This is code for "hey you might want to explore other employment opportunities, cause I'm going to fire you."

So this is leaving the company to pursue new opportunities and spend time with the family statement before he is actually fired statement. Guess we will be hearing Richard hiring possibilities the rest the afternoon then.
