What ... Really do you think Sam could possibly fix our pass rush? Really?

Well any help, can't hurt to have a look.

Fix our pass rush? No. Help our pass rush rotation? Possibly.

With Marsh likely out for the year, bringing in Sam is not a bad idea. Bottom line is this defense relies on fresh bodies, even if they aren't all that skilled (McDonald is a great exampple).

Jones is old. He was a college HB who transitioned to FB early on, but stillhas the versatility the Seahawks like in their FB's.

Well, defensively we are terrible. I wouldn't be opposed to giving him a tryout.

Then if we get him and he underperforms, everyone will say Sam Sucks, and that may not be p.c.

She might, I don't. But still probably would be better than Irvin. You know because he has done absolutely nothing, other than rookie year.

Yet, another unprompted hate filled agenda aimed at Irvin.

Yawn all you want, it's the truth. I'd love to see him do something on the field, he certainly talks a lot.
I'm entitled to my opinion, Irvin has been a huge bust of a pick. Period

Being upset with him for not getting sacks as pass rusher when hes been moved to SAM is a bit of a self fulfilling prophecy.

I'm not talking about sacks at all. His production since he has been here is brutal. Good rookie year, nothing since. I hope to be very wrong, he's a Hawk. We need the guy.

Rams Released Austin Pettis

The 6-foot-3, 203-pound Pettis is a good athlete who showed promise at times but never quite lived up to what the Rams thought they were getting when they drafted him. This year Pettis has 12 catches for 118 yards and one touchdown.

Pettis has contributed enough, both on offense and on special teams as a punt and kickoff returner, that it wouldn’t be surprising to see some other team claim him on waivers tomorrow. But in St. Louis, he’s finished

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/20 ... in-pettis/

Wonder if there is any interest in this guy..

Instead of Pettis they signed Brackett a New Jersey kid who came out of Penn State in 2011. 6'-5.6" and 248lbs and 4.61 40 time and 26 years old. He was a wide receiver at Penn State.

Looks like he was a tight end conversion project at the NFL level. He has been back and forth between practice squad and 53 man roster with both Miami and Tennessee.

Interesting how they are bringing in Will Tukuafu for a try out. According to Rotoword he was placed on IR by the 49ers in August.

http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/6437/will-tukuafu

They probably released him with an injury settlement. It looks like he had an MCL injury before the NFCCG last year.

6-3 293 FB?

Yeah..I had to do a double take on that too. At first I thought it was a typo but other sites had that same weight listed for him too. Maybe they can get him to play on DL too. Be a two-way player - DL/FB.

You must be talking about sacks.

Because Irvin at SAM:

Run Defensed has improved
Tackling has improved
Solid to Great to Coverage, where he can erase athletic QBs, pass-catching RBs, and receiving TEs to his side.

So again it must be the sacks:

But I'm thinking anyone with a PFF Premium Stats subscription might be able to tell you that he probably still has gaudy pressures per pass rush snap numbers both this year and last despite not running up the sack tally. He ranked 8th in the NFL in pressure per pass rush snaps percentage as a rookie. And I doubt it has deviated much from that. Every time I see Irvin playing down linemen or in a blitz look as a linebacker, more often than not, I see him moving the QB off his spot.

You probably dislike Irvin so much, that you think Aaron Curry was a better LBer for the Seahawks.

I don't hate him, just don't think he's that great of a player. So what, it's one person's opinion.
And Curry was brutal, and that's putting it mildly. I want him to produce, he's a Hawk.
I'm probably too hard on the guy, I hear what you're saying. I guess the smack talk kind of got on my nerves from a guy who hasn't done much, that's all. Oh well, hope to be wrong about the guy, and he starts putting up some sacks, and great play overall.

We all now that Pete likes to turn the roster over. Until this year it has
Worked out well. But his arrogance is biting him in the ass this year.
There is a thing called meshing. Last year we meshed. Losing 19
Players from last years team is a joke. Good luck

Apparently, they will look at recently signed LJ Fort at Fullback instead of linebacker.

You can't judge Irvin on sacks last year compared to his rookie year. As a rookie he played DE in a scheme that ideally wants to rush four at most with few blitzes. They moved him to SAM last year. The opportunities for sacks for Irvin as a SAM were schematically not there, so judging Irvin on that stat last year is simply irrelevant.

Now Pete has said they may need to change things up this year and may be hinting at more blitzes. If they decide to send Irvin after the passer then by all means his rushing and sack numbers are fair game.
