We made a strong offer to Lang, he just wanted to play at home... So the argument is ridiculous. We were right there to sign him but he wanted to be closer to family. There's nothing we could have done more.
Whether or not that's true about Lang, what's the excuse for the countless other talented OL free agents over the past few years they've failed to sign? Maybe it's just that not one decent guy wanted to play for the Seahawks?

They'd rather sign guys like Graham, Lane, Joeckel, Webb, Cary Williams ect.

The lack money we spend on the OL isnt the whole problem.

We cut Jahri Evans in 2016 and kept Webb and that other worthless POS veteran FA.

This offseason we spent a bunch of money on Luke Joeckel, which hurt our chances to sign TJ Lang.

We drafted Germain Ifedi in the first round. So bad.

We could have Evans, Britt and Lang in the middle without spending much more. The talent evaluation on the OL is horrid, and obviously Cable is a big part of that. This is the same guy who spent several seasons trying to convert DL to OL

While it has been kicked around in here about the money spent on the O-line, I think most of you didn't watch the entire video. The statement at the end says everything you need to know to understand what has happened. The last 2 years the Seahawks are DEAD LAST in spending money on the offensive line. The year they won the Owl, they were the TOP TEAM in offensive line pay.

Pretty basic. It really isn't that complicated.

Again, nothing new. Some of us have brought this up many times over the last couple of years.
Just more frustration when the help never arrives year after year
Cable built the #22 pass protecting line with that #1 paid unit one may consider also.

Exactly. Combine that with the difficulty of building 4/5s of the line at the same time. Arguments about money spent and draft picks really hold no water. Our defense proved it's scheme and coaching, and finding the right players

I disagree with you guys. It's not as easy as you, or others try to make it sound. Especially when you have double digit wins every year. You draft high.

Defense wins Championships

Who won the Superbowl last year? The #1 Scoring Defense in the NFL. New England.

Who were scary teams to go against last year in the playoffs?

Denver #4

Dallas, #5

Minnesota #6

Kansas City #7

This team will be fine. We have one of the best Offensive Line coaches in the NFL, but fans have little patience and they want to fire everybody. Just like the Eagles fired Andy Reid.

Pete's philosophy has not changed. Play good defense, develop the run game, and don't make turnovers.

This Offensive Line will improve every week until they get to league average, which is plenty good for this team. Remember, we lost our Left Tackle at the beginning of the season, the guy who took all of the reps during preseason.

I just don't understand all of the anger. This is nothing new. The team starts slow, then lights it up.

The kind of success we've had is RARE in the NFL.
Yes, the Hawks under PC have started slow on O. But..they are getting less performance from the O line every year. ML was able to hide the poor play at the O line position and turn 2 yard losses in to 3 yard gains on most plays and had the toughness to stick with it until a hole finally opened and he took full advantage of it. The guys the Hawks have brought in to replace ML don't have that rare ability to do so or the ability to stay healthy when trying.

The hawks might be fine if the O line gets it together, but more than likely, like last year the highest paid player on the team gets hurt and the O suffers even worse. He gets hurt because of the O line. So, lets go back to why the O line is so bad.

If you don't understand the anger, try a little harder because it's obvious to most hawk fans what is happening.

Yep, And Schnieder has a bit of dirt under his fingernails with all this mess too. They all bought into it and believed Cable could pull it off. So he is standing firm at the moment, as one may expect he would.

Okay then, some of Y'all seem to have the nards & savvy to turn this whole thing around, so..........Who ya got that's skookum enough to replace Cable?
Next step, who ya got that's a sure-fire LT that's AVAILABLE, who ya giving up to get THAT player signed?
Now, with those problems solved, who ya got to replace our RT with?
LOLOLOL, Okay then... now with those easy fixes out of the way.........

You phrase it as if it's an impossible task. It isn't. Don't sign Lacy nor Joeckel and don't trade for and pay a TE you can't use in Graham. That gives you more than enough cap space to sign Whitworth at LT and Lang at guard. Also lets you keep Unger AND a first round pick.

That's a pretty decent solution, I'd say.

Who cares what Schlereth says? He looks for any opportunity he can to criticize Seattle. He's still salty about the beat down in the Super Bowl.

Lol. You feel differently about our OL?

In 2013 we were DEAD LAST in quarterback spending as well. Maybe that's where we've gone wrong, overpaying at the QB position.
