What continues to piss me off about the whole thing is that news of his failed test should never have been leaked in the first place. Per NFL policy, suspensions aren't supposed to be announced until the appeals process is finished, so we never would have heard about any of this if everybody had just followed procedure. And now it doesn't matter because people are going to call him a cheater his whole career even though there is no legitimate evidence that he took Adderall or any other banned substance.

I think the fact that he fought a screw up in procedure vs him saying he's never done it. Helps fuel the conclusion, he did it. He just found a way they screwed up for him to get out of it. For all we know, he's the one who poked the hole in the cup (requiring them to transfer the sample). He's a Stanford grad right? maybe he was just a bit smarter than Browner and knew how to get shit done right.

He didn't just say the procedure was screwed up. He said he hadn't done it, and that the flawed procedure was responsible for a false positive.

Thought this statement by him might not go over well with the rest of the players in the league as he is basically diming everybody out which might make the league start testing for it harder.

If he was a Niner I would be a little irritated that he won't let it go, but obviously he isn't afraid of attention, no matter what kind it is.

What do you guys think of his statement?
I'm thinking, "What was going through your head when you decided to post this?" Were you thinking, "Yup, this is going to earn me some cred with those fans who have been critical of me." You've got to be kidding me. If you really wonder what Hawk fans think... just wait for Hawk fans to discuss it. If it's not discussed... there's your answer. Not worth discussing. So, you're purposefully attempting to be inflammatory.
Many have already chimed in and said what I'm going to say. But, here's another example. Brandon Marshall came out this last season and said that (not a quote) many players take Viagra as a PED (apparently it's not on the banned substance list?) Does that mean Marshall takes it? He didn't name names (that I'm aware of), and (in your opinion, if you're being consistent) called out many in the league. Whether it's banned or not, it's still used as a PED (which is why Marshall was talking about that... as if the Adderall thing is a joke b/c they police that but not other drugs that supposedly offer similar effects.) So, NinerLifer... are we to trust that you went to the Chicago Bears board and asked them what they thought of Brandon Marshall calling out the league? Or, did you merely zero in on your hated rival?
We LOVE Richard Sherman. We're proud and privileged to have him on our team. He really is a class act. (His teammates love him.) The media wants a diva for personal advancement reasons. They want that sort of material. That's part of the game in the media- even if it's at the expense of others. Sherman's talking isn't any different that others who talk on the field. No one likes it because he's a Seahawk. He doesn't initiate talk off the field. He answers questions about his on the field. They don't like his honest answers sometimes b/c he's a Hawk. "How dare he be confident like that? He plays for Seattle?" If he was on the Steelers or Cowboys or a media darling team... he wouldn't be receiving the negative badgering. Yes, the media sometimes claims to be his friend, but then they verbally stab him in the back when he's not in studio.

Alright......I love Sherm and have been on board with everything Sherm has done and said so far, but this is probably something that he could of just kept to himself.

He did not help himself with those statements if he made them. Sherman really needs to learn when to keep his mouth shut.

I'd rather see and hear his comment, in CONTEXT.

At first I found Sherman both amusing and refreshing. I now find him to be neither. He should just shut up and let his play on the field speak for him. He is in danger of becoming a distraction.

i'm not quite ready to say he's in danger of being a distraction, but i really wish the coaches or players would sit him down and tell him to keep his trap shut... trash talking , hyping himself, all good whatever,, but why kick a dead horse.... just shut up and go to the bahamas or something, see you in spring ball..

As long as it's not a problem in the locker room or on the field (within the team), I could care less how much trash talking he does to opponents on/off field. Again as long as it doesn't actually hurt our team. Now if he started trash talking the refs, teammates, the coach, etc. That'd be a different story. Honestly until the Hawks win like 2 Superbowls. We're going to be hated for a while. At least Russell kind of counteracts his bad publicity and he's the QB. Unlike the persona CK is putting out for the Niners right now.

The only players he could have any educated clue about would be the Seahawks.
That's not true at all
Yeah. I guess it depends on how you define "educated" in this context, but players hang out with guys from other teams all the time.

Excellent insight. With facts like that you've convinced me otherwise.

Sherms been in the league only a few years. He isn't the most popular. When and if he ever did hang/work out with the other 1600 active roster players do you think they're going to confide to a big mouth about their banned substance usage?

This really isn't any news. I'm sure he's right about others in the league using PEDs, otherwise they wouldn't be testing for them on such a consistent basis.
Yep, all the testing for adderall didn't just begin with Browner & Sherman.
It's ongoing, and being done to the entire League, it's just NOT getting to ALL who use it.
Look for players to find a way around getting caught, or finding a supplemental drug that doesn't show up in testing.

Sherman! There something to be said for good karma. I have this overwhelming feeling that things will end badly for him.

Shows just as much insight as making a claim, that would limit Sherman to knowing ONLY Seahawks players as using Adderall.
How would you know that for being a fact?
Big mouth or not, inside information doesn't just limit this kind of information to the Seahawks, as players go from one team to another, and take opinions and information about what others are doing around the League with them.

You're exactly right Rocket, here's already a bunch of fans here that are jumping the gun on what little information that has been leaked.
They've got themselves all worked up over a "snipit" of what was probably said, and that's all they need to make an informed decision on the matter.

And a Niner fan that threw the bone into the middle of the dog pound just sittin' back enjoying himself... that was just too easy.
