I don't think Goff is where he's at today without his time with the Rams, I think that system gave him the experience necessary to succeed elsewhere.

With that said, being traded to Detroit was better for him. McVay's offense grew stale, and LA went into desperation mode and gave up on Goff. Sure, McVay got what he wanted, but by severely strapping his teams future.

Another one (Brady) should have missed the playoffs but escaped because the division his team is in sucks. This is why I feel bad for the Lions. They should be in with a winning record. The Bucs don't deserve to be in the playoffs plus they get a home game.
