Anyone care to guess what Bennett would bring us in a trade?

Trade his ass to the Raiders and let him suffer there if this news is true. This POS sounds and looks problematic.

A lot is left in the wondering department here, and a few of you have given some reasonable explanations for it. I think the comments he made about Jimmy after the NO game he could get past fairly easily with a bro-hug or three.

My money says that it's all about the money.

Should be a 1st rounder based on how important he is to us, but I would guess he only brings in a mid round pick. This is the Seahawks trading a player away we're talking about.

I am saying this is meddling. Don't tell me this comes without Quinn talking to Bennett

I have issues with this - big time

Yuk.

If we got a 2nd rounder and could free up his cash I would rather take that than keeping an unhappy player..

I'm pretty sure the Hardy visit is in response to Bennett demands not the other way around. Why would the FO want a PR fiasco at a position that's already strong? My gut tells me that Bennett probably went to JS this past few weeks and asked for a trade. The FO may be sensing a hold out of his demands aren't met and are now looking for possible replacements.

You aren't the only one thinking that way.

He just signed a contract last year and is getting $7 million plus a year. Why do players think they shouldn't honor that contract just because free agents boost the market some? He shouldn't have signed for 4 years then.

That goes both ways. If a team honors a contract through to the end that's an exception to the general rule of teams not honoring contracts to their completion.

Given those circumstances, it doesn't surprise me in the slightest that players don't feel any moral obligation to honor contracts that as a rule are regularly dishonored on the other end.

Maybe he's tired of playing all these extra games to reach the super bowl. Atlanta ain't going there any time soon.

If this ends up being true (it seems way out of left field), trade him and a draft pick to Atlanta for Julio Jones!!

I would hate to see Bennett go. He is our one consistent presence on the D-line.

Hawks reportedly are NOT having Hardy in for a visit.

Where did you hear this?
